Mercedes, Audi or Bmw?

What car would you choose from these brands if you had the money to buy it?

BMW.. I have 2 now and before that I also had BMW... maybe in 10 years I'm thinking of buying a Mercedes

Considering cars in the same classes and with similar engines: Mercedes highest reliability, BMW highest power, Audi something in between plus the nice looks.

I own both BMW and Mercedes. Both sports ones.
I would say BMW is more for sporty looks and driving, more aggressive. But Mercedes is more reliable and more luxurious type.

By my preferences (I’m a sport type):
1. BMW
2. Mercedes
3. Audi

speed for bmw
mercedes for comfort
for both audi

I always felt BMW and Merc have a kind of 'legacy' feel to them; dated. Audi has a much more modern and contemporary feel to it's motors by comparison.

Mercedes, for sure.

Mercedes for elegance and prestige. For me, it's the clear winner.
BMW for power, but honestly, nobody likes BMW drivers in Europe. I think there is no prestige left for having a BMW in these days.

I really like Audi but I think it's more comparable to VW.

I own Mercedes CLA-250 and it's amazing.
But I also like all the rest car brands: Audi A7, BMW 540 - also my favorites.

had all of those:
audi cheap quality but reliable
bmw high quality, but RWD for driving fast ins't the right choice
mercedes mid quality, but very very nice overall

i mean, depends on what u want.
i decided mercedes since they innovate, and have luxury, mine it's a45 amg, in this range there is rs3 that has a lot of lag.. and bmw m2 but i want the 4x4 to drive fast, otherwise i will be in the woods really fast
go to dealers and ask for a test drive, it's the fastest way to make the choice

I'm just wondering how many people have actually owned a motor of all of the above and can compare accordingly, or is it just first impression / on a whim here? Because I have, and a general breakdown in my experience is:
BMW 5 series - never had experience with a brand which required so much in the way of repairs and maintenance costs (except Range Rovers ). Features weren't all too impressive. There are some ludicrous design flaws with BMW too which makes it a magnet for thieves.
Merc ML and S class, A class - Very heavy handling for upper mid market cars. Features, again were nothing impressive.
Audi - A8 S-Line, Q7 S-Line, A3, A4 - Basically get it right every time - Reliable, Speedy, Stylish, Hi-tech and Sleek. With the Q7, it's so light I just cannot believe it's technically a large SUV. Handles and feels almost like a hatchback. Cream of the crop for a pleasant ride here though is A8. It's so smooth that it feels almost like you're sitting in a plane. Every normal bump and dip becomes barely noticeable at ordinary speeds. The S Class didn't even come close in comparison to awesome user experience and comfort.

If we're speaking about models individually, the BM 8 series has always attracted my attention, if nothing but surprisingly eye catching aesthetic which has never been BM's strong point. Although people attempting to compare it to Aston Martins is just hilarious.
Merc A classes were ok, cheap and cheerful with a touch of elegance. Everything else though, Audi, hands down for me IMHO.

Only a mad man will buy such luxury cars, no matter how much money he has, even if he has trillions of US dollars. The problem (actually the blessing) is that 99.99% of human beings are mad, so they do such useless shitty things when they have the money >>> buy luxury cars.
From 2014 to 2021, I made fuckloads of money in affiliate marketing, using Google Ads for literally free (churning & burning US$350 threshold Google Ads accounts). I bought 4 apartments (properties) with all that money. I still drive a Chevrolet Spark. And I drive it only if I need to go anywhere beyond 8 kms, otherwise I usually use my bicycle.
I live in 1 of those apartments and I get rents from the remaining 3 apartments. And the value of all these 4 apartments has been going only up.
I prefer to invest instead of doing dumbshit like spending on shit with depriciating value.

For luxury and comfort I'll choose mercedes but for power and looks I'll prefer BMW. Why Volvo is not in the list?

This was a good post for a lounge post. Very insightful for what we normally get here.

I agree with the BMW comments, I had a 7 series and was only impressed because it impressed others... not really what one should look for in a car in my opinion.

I've had a Mercedes CL (I think it was a CL... the SUV version). Car sucked, bad purchase on my part.

I've never had an Audi as they always had a bad reputation when I was growing up but I hear those days are history and it is a decent brand now.

Historically, and I've owned a lot of cars over the past 40 or so years... your middle of the road ride can be as satisfying as a snickers bar without spending stupid money.

Our current ride is a Subaru Forester. It's the "top of the line" for a Forester but it is still a regular ride and at about 35K or so was a decent purchase.

Nobody points at us and says, "Look at that cool car and those cool people!" and rightly so but if you look at what I spent to go from A to B you may say that guy has a little common sense (or well his wife does as she buys the cars in our household).

Don't over extend for a depreciating asset.
