MENTOR: 50/50 Split!

Over the last few nights I have been going back through the last six months of posts. I highly recommend that all nooB's do this. There is so much GOLD in those old posts, I can't believe I didn't look there sooner. I probably could have answered a few of my own questions.

Anyway, it has been about six months for me since this journey started. I am tired. My family isn't seeing much of me. My credit card bill is getting higher (domain names, hosting, ads, clicks, etc).

Just when I am ready to give up, I remember that old quote about persistence. Persistence is the hard work you do AFTER you're exhausted from the hard work you've already done. I would hate to quit two feet away from the gold...so this ship sails on.

I now have one clear-cut path to stay on and one back-up plan. No bullshit, no getting sidetracked. Now let's hope my ADHD brain can stick with it!

Your good fight is for your kids. Don't give up. But make yourself a blueprint and set some timelines and stick to it. I MEAN STICK TO IT MAN or you're gonna waste your days and your money on reading junk.

Implementation is your best teacher.
Find ONE business model and stick to it,
If it is eBay... then get it going and put 100% of your time and energy in it.

Find your business model. That should be the first goal. Then the blueprint and then make $1.00 (a lousy $1.00)

you'll do fine. Don't worry about domains and hosting. This is peanuts. Imagine if you're not here and paying for what these folks are teaching for free.

A simple college degree would take you 4 years, so what makes you think that you can start and run a complicated war (AKA online business) with a few months of part time reading???

The best mentor is self-discipline, I think.

Just look around! On this forum we have everything we need to prosper. Valuable tips, best-selling and expensive products, useful software -- everything. But we lack discipline to take ONE strategy and follow and improve it (at least I did before).

Now I developed some kind of frame (based on 30 Day Challenge by Ed Dale) and steadily "decorate" it with tactics, tricks and tools, even black ones.

IMHO, no one is the same and everyone of us have to develop his own system to get rich (and then sell it for a zillion dollars :D)
 
Pharcyde- Ruck's Blog is cashtactics.net. It is late for me and I re-read the Forum Rules and I think this is OK. I am new here too. I have already learned alot. There are several people here who are generous with their experience, including Ruck. Search the threads for blueprints to implement.
 
I've considered mentoring for a split for quite awhile. The main issue I can never solve is simple:

There is just no way to ensure that:

The person I cut a deal with won't just open up separate affiliate accounts or sites, or whatever to run all my tactics through.

It's a great thought, I would mentor 500 people tomorrow if I really believed that I would get 15% (because I think that's more realistic than 50%) of their future earnings.

I make a shitload of money right now, but if I could just become the zen master and teaach every new method and existing method I have to fresh minds I could have three more houses.

Problem is peoples greed always takes over. Pretty soon you'll get tired of kicking up to the master, maybe weeks down the line, maybe months, but at some point, anyone with a brain is going to say "F*ck this guy, I can just create sites and accounts he doesn't know about and collect 100% of the money"

Hats off to you for speaking what was probably on the minds of most people trying to wade through the ocean without any stars. Well then again maybe Harro is a star.

I hope this does not come across wrong but, I am completely confused and/or doubtful of some of the material spoken in this thread. I truly doubt that any person will tell their main means of capitalization in a public forum be it white, grey, black, blue, brown, or any color of the spectrum you can come up with. Logic tells me if the technique or method is not declining why would they sell it if it is their main stay. I and mostly likely others are thankful for the information that is shared. I just don't feel like I am cutting into anyone treasured info because I don't think it is being shared and understandable so.

For the I got mine you get yours folks riddle me this; a person with a gun and bullets begins throwing the bullets at a person with a sword until no more bullets are left and then begins to swing the gun at the sword bearing foe would figure out maybe before a horrific death that this was not just right and if that person lived is the correct lesson to learn never fear a guy with a gun and bullets if you have a sword.

Exactly, if you want to learn something, be creative and study on your own. no one can fill your head with knowledge but you... and I hate it when I have to get all pseudo philosophical
 
I don't think that there is anything wrong with the idea of mentoring in return for profit sharing. Think about it, in almost any field or discipline in life you need a guide a coach or mentor. Wanna become a Surgeon? you NEED a senior surgeon to hold your hand and teach you. You cant just study a big fat book and start operating the next day. Same for sports, why the heck do you think these superstars of tennis, golf ,you name it have got coaches? and how do you think they started out? in academies most of them where they were taught how to hold a racket. Even in jobs that require the most basic of skills there is almost always a senior person to show you the way it has to be done. All our lives we learn stuff step by step with someone's help and guidance.
The problm here in the IM field is that maybe no one trusts anyone else.The would be student is wary of a so called mentor/guru cause of all the bullshit gurus out there. The would be mentor is afraid of being stabbed later on , like Nevarc mentioned above.
If a "code of conduct" and "rules of the game" can be established then in my very humble opinion this could be the best thing for so many of people that are struggling(noobs) and would bring even more monetory benefit to the person who is already successful (the mentor).I would love it to happen :-)

With your logic you're also saying school in general is worthless.

Yes you need to study and read up on your own, but having someone there to help you along the way and give direction other then wasting time, repeatedly doing trial and error, blowing away money that didn't need to be wasted, and other things of that kind can help tremendously.

I know more than I did going through this forum, but someone who has been successful and knows the in and outs helping me along would benefit me more than going on my own.

I know trust is a huge factor. I would be willing to give a part of my earnings for more than just the start up period and I have no problem showing proof each week/month/whatever of how much I made for exchange for some help.
