Hi, guys

i'm wondering if i upload memes to my website, may that cause a copyright problem???
even if i took a screenshots ????

i hope u answer me for both questions guys, thanks in advance andstay safe with all of this COVID crisis that is going on in the world.
 
Anything can be copyrighted

But 99% of memes use others' images without permission anyway, they're illegal themselves. I don't think most people sue though, although like pepe the frog authors and others have been sued.
 
Hard to say, since copyright is very gray area, no clear rules there, I mean like, if you got case filed you can win or lose, depending on who have highest resoucer, either is money, authority, knowledge etc

Parodies are protected in most countries! But keep in mind they won't be in ALL of Europe starting soon. Google article 13 copyright directive

FuckJerry = make a boatload from copy/pasting (aka stealing) memes.

Now #fuckfuckjerry forcing stricter regulation
 
They can be but you don't see many copyrights on memes. Unless we are talking about very specific ones and you are damaging a brand reputation, those can be rough ;)
