Matt Cutts: The Next Penguin Update Will Be Big

I wonder why Google does not get big fines from some government department? I am pretty sure they have some shady deals going with Amazon, Walmart, BestBuy, Apple and other mega corporations.

Just wait for 1-2 more years and we will see that for the major keywords with the biggest traffic all page 1 results will be PAID results.

It's simply the next logical step for them.

First AdWords, the small guys can't afford it anymore.
Soon (october) Google Shopping will be paid only, no more free traffic from G. Who suffers? You, me, the small companies. Who gains? Yes..
Next => Page 1 search results. This will be a combination of adwords on the main part of the page and Google Shopping on the right part of the page.

Do no evil? You ARE evil.

I stopped building sites for seo traffic a long time ago. IMHO there is no future in it anymore. Unless you have a BIG budget that you want to give to Google. I do feel for others who get screwed out of their jobs, income or small businesses by Google.

Regarding Matt Cuts ,

My opinion that he is just a puppet , that is pushed in front by other people !

He is such a prick. He talks in a way to boost his ego. To make himself the best of all man kind. Little frikin dick head forgets there is a Creator to this world and he is nothing but a flimsy worm in this world on this earth.

Those that are haughty FALL HARD.

Remember my post, as we will be visiting it later after the pricks fall.

"BRING IT ON MATT, THE ONLY SONG YOU'LL BE SINGING IS 'WHO LET THE DOGS OUT.......' "

Worthless human ever created... Piece of $hit!

Am I the only one excited by this? Just a another opportunity to market goods and services that prove we can beat the ____ update.

There is a product listed on Amazon that says "currently unavailable" that I stopped selling SIX YEARS AGO. I have not been a Pro Merchant on Amazon for over a year. Amazon refuses to take my products down (and there are hundreds), my store name down, the feedback down, or my pictures down. The product is still in Google and directs to amazon.com. This is part of a bigger picture. It doesn't only affect me. It affects everyone who has a website. Amazon dominates the serps for all kinds of keywords. There are millions of products at Amazon that will never be available yet they are forever in Amazon's database. Google is directing it's users to Amazon for things that have not been available for years and will never be available at amazon again. An opportunity to market goods and services and beat the update? Come on now. It is next to impossible to use Google to market goods when Amazon's black hat methods are worse than anything anyone here does. Google favors major corporations and this update is all about money like every other update was. I will stop now before I start swearing. This subject raises my blood pressure.

You don't think the higher ups go to him and say "Amazon is pissed because sites are making them drop in the search. We need to do something because they are paying our salaries." I have no doubt in my mind that Matt Cutts is fully aware of what goes on there. He's an attention whore and loves every minute of it. He is also scum for participating in destroying small businesses.

These updates usually happen on a tuesday... Enjoy the weekend everyone.

WAIT.

What about negative SEO...

They can't just make all these updates and make it even easier..

As in BIG do you think they are releasing the de-value link tool?

Hmm..

Yeah, a single link devalue tool is gonna fix dumping 75k xrumer links and pinging them for 4 days

It's more propaganda coming from the corrupt empire. While webmasters may be spending hours disavowing links in webmaster tools, Google will be adding more paid ads to the first page search results. It does not matter what your backlink profile looks like or onpage SEO when you have 10 paid inorganic listings above you. Page 2 organic traffic sucks wankers.

It's better if webmasters spend their time disavowing Google, by not spending money on Adwords and switching to Adsense alternatives, then it is wasting ones life away disavowing shit links.

This is getting ridiculous on G's behalf. You've just got your several weeks hard work done or paid a good amount of cash for someone else to get your SERP to a reasonably good level and the next updating is awaiting behind the corner that screw up your work. Great.

He took back what he said:

Hey Barry, I wasn't saying that people needed to overly stress out about the next Penguin update, but I'm happy to give more details. I was giving context on the fact that lots of people were asking me when the next Penguin update would happen, as if they expected Penguin updates to happen on a monthly basis and as if Penguin would only involve data refreshes.

If you remember, in the early days of Panda, it took several months for us to iterate on the algorithm, and the Panda impact tended to be somewhat larger (e.g. the April 2011 update incorporated new signals like sites that users block). Later on, the Panda updates had less impact over time as we stabilized the signals/algorithm and Panda moved closer to near-monthly updates.

Likewise, we're still in the early stages of Penguin where the engineers are incorporating new signals and iterating to improve the algorithm. Because of that, expect that the next few Penguin updates will take longer, incorporate additional signals, and as a result will have more noticeable impact. It's not the case that people should just expect data refreshes for Penguin quite yet.

It is that simple if the tool allows you to devalue links from a generalized domain, or type of link.

One site predicted that the next update will make Penguin verify whether the same person is creating backlinks. It is like all manually done backlinks will be devalued.

It's always the cat-mice game for SEO's and Matt! and ultimately we have to say "Just Bring It". There are always some minor updates that are rolled out every now and then. It's become more of a way of life now.

anyone seeing any jumps or dips? Starting to see yahoo answers pop to the top of some searches--
