Matt Cutts Has Declared Guest Blogging For SEO ‘Done’

I am sure nothing would have changed. All this just to scare everyone and let them commit the mistakes.

Hahahaha... basically at the end he will say that nothing more have impact on SEO, so we will not build backlinks anymore.. :)

He's desperately trying to figure out a way to assign authority to websites that IMers can't replicate. It will probably never happen as we have more people working on the problem than he does. So, to Matt, I say :bootyshak

He has been saying it for a year or so now.

Yeah... But it's not nice when you build your authority site and it's very clean and everything is ok and suddenly google penalize it... I think this will start to happening like they do with adsense accounts...

Google coming hard on different things those have any sort of affect on money making google machine if they are saying so gues bloging is dead or not working anymore they should emplyee some staff only softwares are not enough to contain this market. He come with new ideas regularly because he gets hand some salary and bonuses from google.

Google declared building links yourself "against their TOS" long ago.
Did that change anything? No.
Does this change anything? No.

Unless you have a big brand site like Mashable or Techcrunch, don't listen to Google and do whatever it takes to rank your site and keep it ranking. Matt Cutts get paid well to spread BS about SEO - you don't get paid to listen to him. So stop listening to him and go rank some sites.

Already shared here, no way he will be able to do this

Yeah, it seems that is almost impossible that he could do that... But they're always doing something guys, many penalized sites are not penalized without reason, so I don't agree with the statement "do everything you need to do to rank your sites"... You can but you will always be on a margin to be penalized.

True that. But again, if you're building your SEO strategy, don't exclude anything just because Mr. Cutts has told you to. Do it based on your own experience, not on what Matt Cutts tells you.
E.g. I know for a fact that guest posts work great - so do well made, hand crafted web2.0 BLOGS (not single pages) and so do social signals when done right. Now, Mr. Cutts has already told us that aforementioned methods are 'illegal' and against Google's TOS but who cares? This stuff works for me so why the heck should I not do it? :)

tl;dr:
Matt cutts's spreads BS. Do what works for you.

Thats the reason,I build sites for churn and burn as with so any google updates, they can penalized you for anything.

I wish we knew the truth but one thing for sure that they need to make us believe and stop link buildings and make their job easier.

I don't really see how he can stop it - their algorithms rely on links (obviously).
unless his team are really going to work on determining if a post is a guest post - maybe track the style of blog writing, and then determine if an article style is synonymous with the rest of the articles on that blog or not.?

So social bookmarks is not allowed, directory submission is not allowed, blog comments is not allowed, guest post is not allowed, press release is now allowed, buying links is not allowed... then what is left??

Buying advertisement on adwords is allowed! lol.

That's the agenda they're trying to push.
