MASSIVE PayPal Fees Increase August 2nd, 2021

Hey Blackhatters! We received an email from PayPal saying there are updates to our Legal Agreements. It said there's nothing that needs to be done on our part. I decided to look into what's up and discovered MASSIVE fee increases are going into effect on August 2nd, 2021. We've used PayPal Pro for over a decade for processing credit cards for an online store. Just got off the phone with a PayPal rep. who had no idea about the fee increases. He actually thought we received a phishing email, so he had to look into it. Several minutes later he comes back and confirms the fee increases. There is no "Customer Retention" department and no grandfathering in for old customers. Mind you, the email said absolutely NOTHING about fee increases, the PayPal phone rep knew nothing about the fee increases, so I'm assuming very few people are aware of this horror show. For example, new commercial transaction fees for credit card orders will be

3.49% + $0.49 per transaction.

Anyone know a good alternative in the US?

Stripe many people ditched Paypal over these sort of reasons or you could use I think it's called Gumroad

Compared to what we were paying it is a 60% increase on the Merchant Transaction % and a 63% increase in the per transaction fee - yet they felt no need to inform customers (or PayPal service reps) about the fee increases!

That fee is far to expensive.

Very unreasonable.

These people are becoming millionaires by stealing from people in a "legal" way.

Limiting accounts for no reason and raising their fees now, lol

The only place that uses PayPal so religiously is this forum (besides Ebay). The BST section is filled with people who live in 2010 and love Moz and PayPal. Glad they banned PR from use because that would still be used.

Any sort of marketing services I buy outside of BHW, I have the freedom of not using PayPal. I just bought a guest post 10 minutes ago, the blog owner used Stripe, for example.

You guys should see the exchange rates PayPal used to pull on people 10 years ago. It was like 2-3%.
