Hello everyone,

I got a message on webmasters for one of my sites as below:

"Google has detected thin content on your site that provides little or no added value. This critical issue results in irrelevant or low-value search results for Google Search users and can negatively impact your site?s ranking. Therefore, Google has applied a manual spam action to "Product pages link of website"
. In order to remove the manual action on your site, you must significantly change the content to conform to our guidelines and submit a reconsideration request. After we determine that you have complied with our guidelines, we will remove this manual action. "

Could you suggest if its only a manual review to remove duplicate content or they mean to check backlink profile and everything else?

Should I continue with the website? It is a scraped amazon affiliate website with products from Amazon, so the product descriptions are almost same.

Would appreciate your comments.

Thanks

You answered your own question: It is a scraped amazon affiliate website with products from Amazon, so the product descriptions are almost same.

Best to scrape (delete) the site content (or site itself) and start again with unique content.

If you run an affiliate site, it is best to use unique content if you want to avoid thin content penalties. And yes, the penalty is only concerned with the content, not anything to do with your links.

Also Amazon can ban you for that. Change the content with original one.

Change all the content As soon as possible and send reconsideration request.

Did you sign up with google webmaster tools? Stay away from that, because of them i lost 22 websites.

You should not submit more than 1 website per GWT account. If you use a separate account for each website, then it can be very useful (if for nothing more than for checking for manual penalties).

White hat sites can go on GWT no problems.

The issue I see is folks embark on black hat projects using Google products. That's just begging to get slapped.

Thanks for the suggestion everyone. I invested a lot already with very less outputs. So, I think I will go on and put unique content on each product and submit for reconsideration.

If you want to rank well with amazon sites, write good quality product reviews of significant lengths.
