This is one of my big bug-bears in this industry. For your own sake and the sake of everyone else who happens to read something you post we shouldn't parrot the stuff we've just heard others say. Test things. Test everything. Question everything. This is a zero-sum game and in all honesty, if you spend your time doing things like this manually you're just less competition for those who scale it with automation.
My bread and butter for the last several years have been in automation. When people say things like this they're either wrong or intentionally misleading you. It's actually commonly used as a sales tactic around here selling a 'manual' service because people who don't know better think that somehow adds value.
For example - yes. You can manually filter between genders better if you do it manually. But while you run 1 account manually someone else can run 100. And while automation is handling that they're already working on a different project.
Your 1 account might perform better than 1 of my automated ones. And that's might because for a lot of niches the gender won't matter - but when you're making less money with more work that's a shallow victory.
I'm not trying to have a go at you here I just genuinely don't understand why you'd want to do this manually. This is already a tough game and you're making it harder for yourself.
