Manual backlinking

i would also reccommend analyzebacklinks a verry good website to check your backlinks and your competitions. Even shows what acnhor text was used very useful

Thanks! Glad to get some wonderful feedback.

It appears that yahoo site explorer is showing a lot of yahoo answer links that I've left my site's link on, but one of the forums I've been posting on aren't showing. I'm curious to know why my backlinks aren't showing on that forum and how to avoid forums like that now.

Any idea anyone?

Quick question though, lol. Now I'm debating a bit. SEO Quake, SEO for Chrome, SEO Site Tools.

Which one you think is best? Have you tried the others and just didn't like them? Seems like each one of the tools have some inaccurate information so it's hard to choose. Feels like so much eye candy though, lol.

I wrote the SEO Site Tools chrome extension... some of the numbers that fluctuate wildly are scraped from google (as well as other places) and are known to be prettymuch useless except they are good for relative comparisons but
Id like to know what blackhat seo tools people would like to see, both as a service (server side) and context scripts and onpage analysis / tools or any new tools / feature ideas that would be fun to implement

Don't worry about if a resource shows your backlinks or not. Some forums show up in yahoo, some don't. All you need to worry about is if the page that your link is on, is indexed by google.

As far as Google not showing links, it's random what they show. My links fluctuate in G all the time. Somedays shows 2, somedays shows 15. They do only tend to index high pr links, and links from sites that they trust. If you pay attention, you will see sites with literally hundreds of thousands of links in yahoo, but not a single one in google. It's normal, and the only way to get a better idea, is to register your site with webmaster tools.

Ah, glad to see a dev here, haha. I loved the suggestions part of the extension though, one thing I would love in SEO for Chrome. Only reason I stopped using it was because of SEo for chrome being more accurate, saving me more trips from going to the site itself.

I have my site with webmaster tools and analytics, lol. Much appreciated though. So I can just pretty much see if the forum post that I post on is in google. I'll stick to that =)

Also, is a good way to tell if the posts are being indexed is by typing <forumname> <mywebsite.com> in google and seeing if I get any results? If that's the case, I can't find my signature on this forum if I look in Google. Not sure if that's what you meant.

I'm confused now. The forums I've been posting on with my signature does not come up in google because guests can't see signatures. Yahoo Site Explorer doesn't even show my backlinks on those forums. Is that why?

Now one of the forums I can see my signature if I google search <forumname> <mybacklink>.

Am I going down the wrong path to backlinking? All of my backlinks (according to yahoo site explorer) are coming from yahoo answers (which I'm suspended from now).
