I'm still using the Gmail account I opened with an invitation. Had a XasaMail before bc they offered free 2GB email storage.

Must have been about 2004? Each account would get 10 invites, so I would make 1 new account from 1 invite then sell the other 9. Rinse and repeat

Update: The date has passed and there had been no affect on already created accounts so far because of this update.

I dont like this crap. Like even on BHW i tried to login on phone the other day, had to receive pin, pin didnt arrive. I tried 3 times.
After some time it arrived but i was asleep by then.
Anyway, just more time wasted receiving pins and codes and login links and whatever the fuck. Aint nobody got time for that

They roll it out gradually, 9th Nov was the start date. Apparently they send an email 7 days before auto-enrolling. For now, the auto-enrolling would be limited to the accounts with proper backup mechanisms enabled. These are accounts that have a phone number or second email address associated with them, or a smartphone set up to receive Google notifications.

I don't remember that, but I do remember when they had a counter that showed free storage and how it was always slightly increasing as they expanded.
