Managing submission requests

Hey guys, I run a web design appreciation blog, and as my profile has grown I have received a couple of requests from web designers who want their site put up. As of now I am mostly concerned with increasing followers, as I'm only at around 300. What is the best way to do this so that I receive maximal gain? I was thinking of asking them to post their submission and tag my handle, which I would repost. Another concern is what if their submission doesn't meet my standards.. is there still anything I can do with it for my gain?
