I've been lurking for a couple of months now. I work full-time as a math teacher in an international school, but I'm getting a divorce and I need a way to be close to my kids and support them no matter where in the world my ex-wife chooses to relocate.

I'm going to be exploring different methods this year. I carefully read Loyal0's popup method and it seems like a good place to start:
  1. It's straightforward.
  2. I think I can get a decent understanding of the method and its potential working only part-time on it.
  3. I can afford to test it, but the initial investment drives many competitors out.
As it says in the title, I have zero experience. This method seems like a good place to start, but what do I know?

What do *you* think? Do you have a better idea? I appreciate your hints and suggestions!

Welcome aboard... math guys do well with programing in general so that might be an avenue for you to consider.

BTW, when I got divorced I had a clause put in that my wife could not move farther than 75 miles as the crow flies until the youngest was 18 (the age of majority in my State.)

Rate of pay isn't too bad as you can do your own hours to suit.

Thank you for sharing that. My wife and kids are French but we live in SE Asia now. Her job forces her to relocate every few years, and sometimes she doesn't get to choose where to. Custody and relocation agreements are always a gamble for international couples. We're trying to keep it civil and make arrangements so that it works out for everybody. We gave ourselves a year to look for options, and that's why I'm here.

Also, I like the idea of working for myself.

I considered programing before. I know a little Python, but I've never worked as a developer. I mostly use it to automate stuff I need for other purposes. Maybe I should give it a try.

Well, it's a pity, but I will advise you first try to fix stuffs with your partner, else try to become a online freelancer as this is the only major way to move around, and still do your job without any effect.

I am still teaching now, so my idea is to look for something I can build up now and do in the long term. I appreciate your offer though. Thanks!
 
I wish you luck with it all, sounds like you are covering a lot of bases which is good. It's a good idea to get into the world of IM as it seems this will suit your lifestyle best when it comes to the potential of moving to be with your children. I would recommend going the affiliate marketing route as then you will not really have to have any physical products and can pack up at a moments notice. All you need is an internet connection and a laptop and you're away. You may want to get started on building up some resources like social media pages, profiles, groups and other things like that such as a good PBN that you can use to help promote your main site with offers on. Needless to say there is probably more info on this site than you will ever get around to reading on this subject so you are in the right place. Again good luck and welcome.
 
Welcome! Considering your background, programming gigs could be a good way to start making a little money on the side without risk. You could then reinvest this money to apply methods described here and see what works for you.

I wish I had a better recommendation for you, i'm still learning. I'm trying the IG follow liker route and it's tedious.

Welcome @afterthefact, you can earn money with your sound knowledge in programming. At the same time, you can look out for other methods which gives you an additional income. So, don't lose hope. Just invest your efforts. Success will follow you. Good luck for you and your kid's future. Last but not least, feel free to share your doubts here.
