Malware that makes ATMs spill out cash through text messages from a remote command

The second that section opens alarms start going off, and you have to be talking on the phone to the right person at the right time with the right words, or the police will join you very quickly.

If you have all that, you probably have the keys to the safe as well.

Sounds quite difficult. I can't speak from experience, but this isn't the first time thieves have hacked ATMs by connecting directly to them, so there must be an efficient way to do it, or a particular "brand" of ATMs that are targeted.

I worked years ago as security for a major bank, and they used to bring truck loads of money into the facility to burn it out of circulation. Its amazing how easy it is to kill 5 fat security guards, and make off with a truck filled with 100 million bucks.

What is unrealistic? Think about how an ATM is put in place. Usually there is a huge pad of special reinforced concete set down first and it is raised above the ground level to deflect a ramming vehicle and to help absorb impact. In various places around the ATM are usually 4 inch schedule 40 steel pipe stuck vertically into the ground, hollow so they can collapse and absorb impact. Lastly, the ATM is made of armored alloys and is typically bolted down by bolts inside the casing set really deep into the reinforced concrete pad.

Even if these bolts start to pull out, it will create slack that will allow the weight of the ATM to also absorb impact by rocking back and forth.

That is completely disregarding a surround that gets hit first, or a building that impedes the ramming vehicle from building up speed.

The people who place these ATM's have thought of just about everything you can do to them, and they take very effective countermeasures. It is extremely rare for an ATM to get stolen, especially feom a major bank.

The funny part of the video was the first hit. Whoever did it had been watching too many movies, and I guess they expected to plow right thru it and send it flying into pieces spraying money everywhere. They damn near knocked out the windshields when him and his buddy smashed into them after coming to a dead stop.

Mind you, it moved the surround, the pipes, and the ATM about 5 inches, but that truck stopped SHORT.

I watched that video 15 times, them people hurt themselves. They strapped themselves in after that, but you could see they didn't have the balls to really get up speed like on that first hit again.

What is a technician plants the malware and hides a USB extension cable on the outside of the machine somehow and then gets his mate to come by and rob it in the middle of the night? What then?
 
Not surprised. Technology is expanding, the other day i had to get a new phone and usually t-mobile needs a simcard to get all your information and all of that. But the lady scanned the phone box and bam all of my information is right there. Like what? It might not be new for some people here but it was for me
 
i BLEIEVE it something with the old nokia they are able to manipulate atm with. I read something like that awhile ago

The alarms will still go off, there is no "somehow" and if there were, the FBI will be on them like a duck on a crawdad.

Judging by the tone of your post. I've came to the conclusion that your more than likely as ugly OR uglier than that guy.

At Black Hat conference Barnaby Jack presented not one but two ways too hack a atm machine . There should be 3 versions of the software.All in Spanish
