Hey BHW,

I’ve been running a few blogs for a while now and we’ve finally hit a steady rhythm. We are currently seeing triple-digit earnings (monthly) strictly from AdSense.

While I’m happy with the consistency, I can’t shake the feeling that Google is taking too large a slice of the pie. From what I can gather, between their buy-side and sell-side fees, it feels like we’re losing 50% or more of the actual ad value.

We’re looking to scale, and I want to know if there are "AdSense-like" services that offer a better revenue share or simply higher RPMs.

What we’ve looked at so far:
  1. Mediavine: Heard great things about their 75%+ rev share, but their requirements are getting strict.
  2. Raptive (formerly AdThrive): Seems like the "endgame" for many, but do they really pay that much better than AdSense for the same traffic?
  3. Ezoic: I’ve heard mixed things about site speed, but the revenue bump is supposedly real.
My questions for the community:
  • For those who moved from AdSense to a premium network, what was your actual % increase in earnings?
  • Are there any "hidden gem" networks for self improvements that pay better than the big three?
  • Is it worth the technical headache of switching if AdSense is already "working"?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Which ad network currently gives you the best ROI?
  • Google AdSense (The Reliable Classic)
  • Mediavine (The Lifestyle King)
  • Raptive / AdThrive (Premium Scaling)
  • Ezoic (AI Optimization)
  • Other / Private Direct Deals (Comment below!)

Adsense is also providing opportunities to optimise ads for a better revenue. Considering your niche, you can try to remove low paying and irrelevant ads for better conversions and RPM.

Is Adsense CPC/Earnings down for anybody else here, or is always like that in January? Seems weird - ads are shown as random 'penny clicls' like PDF ads.
