I'm currently building lots of bots for my own needs with android automation and at some point I have started using computer vision instead of the "xpath" approach. It's slightly heavier but I believe it's the future.

I was googling various account marketplaces and ended up on playerup. They sell lots and lots of accounts over there I mean those kind of lvl 70 ETC characters and so on. That stuff cost varries from 10 to 10k $ and falls exactly into digital goods which many bhwers enjoy selling. And with Opensea getting bigger and bigger I guess such products marketplaces are going to grow... I mean man... Even back in the wow classic times (the really good times) I am sure folks used to make fortunes selling game gold.

I noticed this type of business is not really discussed on bhw. Somehow we are focused on SM, traffic and blogging here... I mean... You can still sell game goods on Instagram...

Later I started googling how hard it is to build a really smart AI bot. For one of those games popular on playerup. Such as brawl stars i.e... And man... That's real magic... Nowadays you can literally build an artificial worker with some sort of a brain who will farm accounts for you , producing products and you will only have to sell that stuff to the rich kids...

Turns out YouTube has plenty of AI RuneScape game bot type of videos...

Is there someone among us who have developed his own game bot? Do you have any positive experience banking on selling game gold or any other game virtual goods?

Surely, you can make bots for different games. I've already tried Black Desert Online, Tera Online(some time back), and AION(mostly MMORPGs) - list goes on.

It is profitable but also churns and burns. You'll end up with a bad rep most of the time if the bot is easily detectable by anti-cheats(most of them pretty advanced nowadays) and your accounts are banned immediately.

What works though is focusing on a popular game and create a private cheat that goes around its anti-cheat.

Example: Valorant - If you can make a cheat for this game and keep it private, people are pushing up to 2/3k per month dollars for that shit. Make a private list of a max of 10 people/month and you don't need to work.

You will just have to keep the cheat updated and don't get people banned.

Seems easy? It ain't. LOL

As for botting accounts to level them up and stuff you also need C++ sadly as it offers so much more diversity when it comes to cheating.

As far as I understand you are talking about the in-game "API" level access. All the cheats and c++ is happening there. Whereas I was talking about bots which use the exact same inputs and outputs as the humans do. You use computer vision and object detection to analyze the pixel data. Nowadays people are even using NNs to make decisions on what actions to send to the game control inputs. That's a completely different story. You don't need c++, however you need lots of training materials and ML skills.

So basically, you mean such AI bot using computer vision can never ever been detected, isn't it? And what if your AI bot only follow a fixed routine like other normal bot, will game detect your via your repeat pattern and ban you?

I used to make AI scripts to bot on Runescape (MMORPG). The money was pretty decent but required a lot of manual work as the accounts would regularly get banned and to combat the anti-cheating you would need lots of proxy's and a VPS.

I would like to find a crypto game that I could develop a script for though.

I see you mentioned RuneScape so I’ll chime in. I have been in the RuneScape scene for a while. Botting to farm gold has been prevalent for years. Botting up accounts to sell them is not super viable as ban rates are kind of high, but still gets done with private scripts. RuneScape has pretty good bot detection, idk about other games though.

What people would do as well is outsource the labor to cheaper countries to build the accounts, then sell them.

Botting/Cheating games and making a profit with this always fascinated me. Early in 2011 i was using a private cheat for WarRock to Powerlevel Accounts and sell them later on. Great thing was that the program allowed to you run multiple accounts simultaneously. Sure sometimes accounts would get banned but it was like a 10% Chance. Especially in the earlier days the Anti Cheat System were not as developed as they are now today. Making a good cheat/software gets more difficult as time goes on and especially with games like CS:GO you really need to go the private route to make sure your cheat won't get detected.

If you are a really good programmer and have a good way to workaround their Anti-Cheat System you can easily make bank with such a bot/cheat. I've seen people make 10-20k per month just from taking 10$ per month subscriptions for a game.

@kelturon
If you ever go that route of making your own cheat/software, let me know/or start a journey on it. Very interested in this.

Hello,

I just saw your post. Then, I see you talk about " Playerup " I know it's not relevant to the your post, but I want to give you some infomation about playerup.

I am not talking about playerup sellers. I am talking about Player-up owners.

I have an account in player up and I registered around 1,5 year ago. I sold many times and have 150+ feedbacks. So, they stole around my $400 and they still do not pay. Also, their website still working. They are still contunie their business. If you think make a purchase from player-up, do not do that. If the seller is a good person, player up owners do not want to complete transaction. they want to extend the delivery times and make the buyer and seller tired.
I sold many times accounts and I am sure they are perfect scammers. I do not recommend any buyer or seller this scammers. I shared my experience other forums, too.

Finally,If you check their trustpilot rewievs, you can see %98 positive feedback but those are totally fake. They send fake reviews to trustpilot. You can see by yourself. Trusitpilot marked them.

This is interesting, can you make a simple bot to play games for retention? I have noticed d30 is a ranking factor and very hard to increase naturally for hyper casual games.

Could you please explain what type of AI you were using? How can a game detect a bot which is based on an ai? If the ai is well-trained it should be hard to differ it's behaviour from a human.

1. You build an image detection system that takes as an input raw pixel data and labels all the objects

2. The second step is still shady for me however,

You use a NN which accepts as an input to it's first layer all sorts of coords and data about what's going on the screen and output layer is the control commands (what to send to the mouse etc)

Theoretically this way you can use "let's play" YouTube gamers and twitch content to teach the ai how to play the game. It watches the gameplay video, labels the image and tracks the actions

The reason you can't 100% fool the anti-botting system is because it uses pattern detection and it's impossible to create a truly random AI, just like its not possible to create a truly random number generator.

The system also looks for pattern of play such as new accounts playing for too long, types of gameplay, repeating the same types of action regularly (all of which most genuine players do not).

I do agree that Runescape seem to have a superior bot detection system over other games.

Now I am thinking if that could be a good idea to hire someone on Upwork to build such a bot with an AI onboard. As I am lazy and only initially only think about all that in terms of the opportunity to make money by selling digital goods to the rich.

**EDIT**

Recently I like the client-first approach. I think a good way to go about this would be to make a website offering the final service such as RS gold or some WoW Characters etc and invest into some influencer shoutouts or any other form of marketing. If there is demand for such a service may be its worth building the bot

hello kelturon, I want to ask which programming language do you use to build these android automation bots?

While this may seem like a good idea, in practice it will require a tremendous amount of computing power and time to train a bot capable to level up and play a complex game like a mmorpg on its own.

You need to train a reinforcement learning agent, (Refer here: https://www.tensorflow.org/agents/tutorials/0_intro_rl)
With only pixels as an input it will take months to train it and it will require lots of practice and knowledge to tweak the neural networks parameters.

A shortcut would be to feed the network only important data like x, y, z coordinates of the character, his health, enemy coordinates in x, y, z, their health, skills cooldown etc

ive been botting osrs for 2-3 years now, if you need help let me knows
stopped recently trying to find out a new proxy provider, but its kinda hard throwing away money to see how it goes from the ban side

You could create a bot for Shopify that can import 100 million products in one month

Automate everything

Price augment
Category of products
Fulfillment
Deletion or removal
Deal offers
Etc

Every option possible automatic
Can do what 50 apps do in one

Since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by the idea that there might be a way to make money off of bots and other types of game cheating. At the beginning of 2011, I made use of a well-kept WarRock trade secret in order to rapidly level up accounts that I intended to later resell. The capability of making use of the programmes with a number of different accounts all at once was a terrific feature. It was not impossible to get an account terminated, but the likelihood of doing so was quite small. Especially in the past, anti-cheating systems did not have the same level of sophistication as they do now. It is becoming increasingly difficult to develop cheating software that is dependable, and games such as CS:GO require players to take additional precautions behind closed doors in order to avoid being discovered.
