PS. Do not blast me please if you dont like the idea. Open for a discussion though. I was going through another programming forum and got the idea from there. The 'problem' in question: Long threads, stickies with 11 pages or more in it with only a few pages of info or a different 'category' of post that interest different users. This happens when we have reviews, suggestions, Requests in them along with the method or the topic in discussion. For eg., Look at this thread. Code: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/associated-content-writing-articles/77524-made-30-two-articles-today.html We all must have read this at least once. It has 52,257 views and 1616 posts (at the time of posting). Now imagine someone wanting to learn more about this method. How much time will it take? Maybe days or even a week or two to read all the posts and jot down points, etc. But look at those odd 1616 posts (definitely all serve their purpose) but do all the post talk about the method in question. No statistical analysis, but I can easily claim that more than 50% of the posts are either thanking the OP or just a review of his ebook or maybe just something that has been already discussed. My suggestion: Have a system where the OP or a mod can flag a post. Egs. of flags will be: Method Update Problems Reviews and Thanks Results, etc Once done, have a filter at the top of each thread so that a reader can filter the posts and get what he is looking for. For eg a noob looking to get the details of the method can simply use that option, someone trying to go for the ebook can simply go for the Reviews and Thanks, etc. This definitely will need a lot more refining, assuming the vastness of BHW. This may initially mean a lot of work but I feel this may go a long way in increasing the quality of this forum. Lets see what we think about this.
