Making Backlink Energizer work without Cron Jobs?

there are cronjob services online most are freemium, or you could just swap to a better host

Yeah, pretty crappy that your host won't let you use crons. I can't see it being of much use without them. Try what the guy above me said.

I've tried the online cron jobs without luck. I also tried pasting the url but get this response:

Simple Control Panel of SetCronJob is what steve recommends to manage crons, I use it, very simple

there is an issue with an rss feed here - remove that url from the feeds list. hxxp://14710.net/api/ping
www.setcronjob.com will eliminate the need for a hosts cron tab in cpanel
