Someone on here not to long ago asked me if I had any advice on "adult websites" I told them not to get traffic from just one thing, for example, search engine. I know there was a thread not to long ago talking about getting good at one thing and stick to it

I liked that post and I agree to stick to one thing but I also think you need to think about multiple streams.
I look at the "one thing" as my website, now that is my website so I need to work on getting traffic to it.
I worked and worked and finally, I got traffic to it and it makes money yah!!! I've established an income online, I'm not getting rich by no means but I can feed myself on my income after so many years of trying.
I established that by learning S.E.O. now if any of us have learned anything past year is that in SEO nothing is for certain. Your website can be #1 today and be #99 tomorrow, another thing that could happen is the company that I sell their product for (rather it be adult or mainstream it doesn't matter) they can say I broke their terms and conditions, a few of us been here before where we go from making lots to nothing in a minute and the company that we are pushing traffic to knocked the rug out from underneath us.
So what do you do?
You create multiple streams!
Multiple streams of traffic
Once you start getting good at seo and you establish that, get good at advertising or social marketing or if you are in adult upload/download whatever just get multiple streams of traffic going on. That way when G de ranks you, you got a backup plan and you got some traffic still coming to that website, it might not be as much but at least it is some. You can work on replacing G with something else.
Multiple streams of income
You hear people in the financial sector talk about this, diversity or multiple streams of income. Now they are some people on here that say if you have amazon review site just use Amazon and nothing else which I think is good in some ways but when I choose products I base it on if they got revshare and slowly build those up over time, I use a few products on my websites to build up different rev share programs that way if one goes down I am kind of insured with another stream of income, you could also build another website that uses a different product as well.
I'm not saying try 15 different things out but it is good to have plan b on standby and that is why I like to use multiple streams of income and traffic because no matter how good your website or product is things happen and it's best to be prepared when they do.
