I used the same ID twice and worked fine, so I'd say 2-5 would be okay, but apple ids aren't hard to come by.
The average time from apple receiving the ipod to me getting a new one is about 3 weeks btw.
No good point, they have problems with the battery. But if you get a working one I'm pretty sure they'll replace it anyway as it's to do with safety.
Just check the serial number at the link and if it goes through your fine
If you want to make sure I guess you could cut the battery wires in the ipod, fairly easy job. See here:

just remembered i got one. off you go tomorrow......going on a holiday within 2 weeks, how long it takes normally?
Nice. Between 2 and 5 weeks I think, so you're probably unlikely to get it before you go.

Hey how long does it take to receive the confirmation email if you make a new Apple ID. Its been a few hours and I still have not got the confirmation email.
Cant wait for this method to expire because so many ppl will do this. Ohh well
Yeah, the market price for new nanos has definitely dropped significantly since this became widely known. Still plenty of profit to be made though!
I'm not sure about that I'm afraid, perhaps try with a different email.
