    Hi All,

Just a little tip, not a big earner but nice to know about. A while back Apple issued a recall for the 1st gen ipod nano (came in black or white), I had one sitting in my desk that I'd been working on, so decided to send it in.

I wasn't the original purchaser, I'd bought it off ebay to fix and resell, however they accepted it and sent me a brand new iPod Nano 6th Gen (RRP £129!) The latest one with the small touchscreen.

Sold it quick on gumtree for £90, so profit for me was around £85.
Currently waiting on delivery for my second one.. might keep it this time.

So basically, search your draws, cupboards, boxes (it came out in 2005). If you don't have any luck, look on gumtree/vivastreet/CL and eBay for them, they don't have to be working so get a cheap one....

    Profit!

I used the same ID twice and worked fine, so I'd say 2-5 would be okay, but apple ids aren't hard to come by.

The average time from apple receiving the ipod to me getting a new one is about 3 weeks btw.

Are you sure it's ALL 1st gen ipods. On the website it says "If your iPod is from the affected batch we'll send you a replacement".

Just something to think about before you start buying them from eBay ect...

No good point, they have problems with the battery. But if you get a working one I'm pretty sure they'll replace it anyway as it's to do with safety.
Just check the serial number at the link and if it goes through your fine

If you want to make sure I guess you could cut the battery wires in the ipod, fairly easy job. See here:

Nice. Between 2 and 5 weeks I think, so you're probably unlikely to get it before you go.

Yeah, the market price for new nanos has definitely dropped significantly since this became widely known. Still plenty of profit to be made though!

I'm not sure about that I'm afraid, perhaps try with a different email.
