Let's start with a quick and honest disclaimer:
You probably won't learn anything new from this post (please note I posted this in the lounge), it's more of a commitment to myself I feel the need to take publicly on BHW, but hopefully some fellow members will find inspiration in it.
And also, please pardon my french as I'm not a native english speaker.

So here's my story:
I've been in IM as a hobby for several years now, although I haven't created a real stream of income (I mean, enough to make a living) yet. I've had some successful periods of time making a few thousands in a few weeks with some BH "one-shot" technics, but most of the time making almost nothing at all.

Last year I started to actually do things, and made a few thousands from adwords and clickbank (invested 2k, made 5k back in 3 weeks). Unfortunately, my review sites didn't please Lord G so I couldn't do it anymore. I made a few other with BH CPA and I also started my first WH MNS (Micro Niche Site) which I have let alone since 10 month now, and is my only passive (and ridiculous) income : $100 in adsense I received into my bank account last week.

I didn't do any IM things in the last six months, which were my last six month as a business school student and didn't let me any spare time.
In the last few days, I decided that full time IM was the way of life I wanted, so I now need to start over seriously and make this commitment.

Now I've just done something which makes everyone around me call me crazy as I decided that I wanted to go and live in Luxembourg.
(FYI : Luxembourg is one of the safest city in the world, the country has one of the highest social and political stability and standard of living, and the highest GDP per capita in the world. The minimum wage there is 1'757? (USD 2'235) per month. In short : that's where I want to live)
So last week I hoped on a train, went there and looked for a flat. I found a great one : big and beautiful, almost luxurious and located in the best area to live, I did the paperwork to get it, and dropped the flat I currently live in. Now I can't go back, I will move there by the end of the month.
What's actually crazy in this is that to live there I'll have to pay a rent of 1'100? (USD 1'400) per month (+ others fees such as internet, electricity bills, food etc.), and right now I have no job and no income stream. I have a little bit of money into my bank account right now, but only enough to survive for a few months. Moreover, when you rent a flat there, you have to stay and pay for it for at least one year.

Why did I do this you might ask ? Am I insane or just stupid ? Think about it that way : imagine the cold and unforgiving face of a gun staring at your head right now, would you go back to work and work harder than ever ? Sure you would. Well that's the situation I've just voluntarily put myself in.

My goal is now to make at least 1500 - 2000? (USD 1908 - 2544) per month within the next few months, not only because I'd like to, but because I'll NEED it to survive there.
Actually I'll still have an alternative in case of failure : I could get any job (even burger flipping) for minimum wage and make a decent living.

But failure is not an option, and I don't want to flip burgers.

Epilogue:
I went back from Luxembourg on friday night with the paperwork done for my new flat there, which means I had passed the point of no return. Once home, I immediately got back to work and already started to seriously implement new methods, including CPA (zip submit and adult dating affiliate) and creating several new MNS (monetized with CB, Amazon and AdSense depending on the topics.) I also started to write this book I've always wanted to but never started, and I'm thinking a few serious businesses to start. I'm a former master of procrastination, and I've never been so productive before, because I now have to in oder to afford the life I've already chosen.

I won't insult you be saying yet another time "take action" because you read this already in every other post on BHW. But I hope that you got what I mean in this post, and that you now realize what you have to do to get the life you want.

Set your goals and get to work hard toward them. If you need this kind of threat as a motivation,
then take risks (such as getting first the life you want but can't afford, then you'll have no choice but working hard until you can actually afford it and before drowning)

Now please take a minute to picture the life you have right now and the one you will have in six months if you keep the same routine.
Then picture the life you would like to have in six months.

Done ?
Now you know what to have to do.

good luck OP. I really want to wish you success in your quest.

You can do it, good luck you have set a very realistic goal...

If you got a couple months to get there plus dedication plus brains you will!

Realistic goal in a decent timeframe. You should be able to do it, good luck with it. Also, DON'T FORGET to compute for the amount of time it takes for you to receive the money in your hand. 30 days payment schedule. Shipping of Cheques(No idea about luxembourg, google about it), then the clearing of cheques. Maybe also conversion fees if you deposit cheques from another currency(For USD->INR the rate is ridiculous). Even for Direct Deposit it takes a while. It took 4 days for the money to appear in my account from CJ.com.

I wish you all luck, but hope you will not need it. Because you will succeed. Getting a mindset like this will get you far, Zak.

I enjoyed reading your post op. It is great to see such determination for success.
I see you respect the order and discipline and I would like to give you some advice.

Great determination requires strategy and schedule.
Take a big sheet of white paper, and a big black marker pen. Write your goal step by step
all the way, for any method you chose. Stick it on the wall in front of your desk so you can look at it all the time and remind your self what you should do.
Buy some sticker posts and write small scheduled tasks to work on. Using sticker posts has proven
that works very good when some tasks need to be finished in order for goals to be achieved.

Create a daily work schedule and respect it. Don't allow any exception and remember, there's no turning back now.
Respect your decision and determination in a way perfectionism works. Do not let any detail slip off your hands.

I am planning to do the same thing you did and can't wait for it to happen.
I wish you all the best!

I wish you the best of luck. When You have no way to go back, you will find a way to get over.

I am inspired by your leap of faith!

Not anybody would put everything on the line, not especially on an "uncertain future" (more riskier). Hell, people can actually go on living off some low paying employment and/or flipping burgers (there's not a hint shame in that), but not everyone will find the courage to think of chasing success and actually doing it. I am planning on leaving my job sometime this year or next to pursue IM full-time. I am not saying that i have no hesitations because it is very hard to think outside your "safety bubble". but because i have something that i want to prove to my family and myself, I will do my preparations and take a similar leap too.

I think that your business education will be an important part of your IM career. Just remember to always keep on doing well calculated risks, rinse and repeat and you'll be fine.

Good luck on your endeavors bro!

i did something similar when i first started out. quit my job to do IM full-time with only a few months rent in the bank.

i visualized it as jumping out of an airplane with a needle & thread, and having to make a parachute before i hit the ground. :)

i'm sure everything will work out fine if you stick to it. either that or you'll die. ;)

You have crazy mind some what similar to me.
One Best Quote for you comes in my mind.
"If You Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail "

Wish you All Luck.

Now that type of attitude isn't so much about *taking a leap of faith*...but rather having that sheer determination in yourself to ensure that you follow through with what you know you need to do in order to secure the financial stability needed in order to secure the long-term sustainability you need there in your new location!

I wish I had that same level of determination in myself as you do, but alas, I do not, but yet I continue fighting it day in and day out....knowing that one day (hopefully), I'll battle through it and hit pay-dirt!

Please keep your fellow Black-hatters up-to-date with how things are going, as I'm sure your success will help motivate others....myself included...in finally breaking through whatever barriers they themselves know are standing between themselves and true financial freedom!

wow nice move!
really curious to see how this develops! true inspiration indeed!
