Let's start with a quick and honest disclaimer:
You probably won't learn anything new from this post (please note I posted this in the lounge), it's more of a commitment to myself I feel the need to take publicly on BHW, but hopefully some fellow members will find inspiration in it.
And also, please pardon my french as I'm not a native english speaker.
So here's my story:
I've been in IM as a hobby for several years now, although I haven't created a real stream of income (I mean, enough to make a living) yet. I've had some successful periods of time making a few thousands in a few weeks with some BH "one-shot" technics, but most of the time making almost nothing at all.
Last year I started to actually do things, and made a few thousands from adwords and clickbank (invested 2k, made 5k back in 3 weeks). Unfortunately, my review sites didn't please Lord G so I couldn't do it anymore. I made a few other with BH CPA and I also started my first WH MNS (Micro Niche Site) which I have let alone since 10 month now, and is my only passive (and ridiculous) income : $100 in adsense I received into my bank account last week.
I didn't do any IM things in the last six months, which were my last six month as a business school student and didn't let me any spare time.
In the last few days, I decided that full time IM was the way of life I wanted, so I now need to start over seriously and make this commitment.
Now I've just done something which makes everyone around me call me crazy as I decided that I wanted to go and live in Luxembourg.
(FYI : Luxembourg is one of the safest city in the world, the country has one of the highest social and political stability and standard of living, and the highest GDP per capita in the world. The minimum wage there is 1'757? (USD 2'235) per month. In short : that's where I want to live)
So last week I hoped on a train, went there and looked for a flat. I found a great one : big and beautiful, almost luxurious and located in the best area to live, I did the paperwork to get it, and dropped the flat I currently live in. Now I can't go back, I will move there by the end of the month.
What's actually crazy in this is that to live there I'll have to pay a rent of 1'100? (USD 1'400) per month (+ others fees such as internet, electricity bills, food etc.), and right now I have no job and no income stream. I have a little bit of money into my bank account right now, but only enough to survive for a few months. Moreover, when you rent a flat there, you have to stay and pay for it for at least one year.
Why did I do this you might ask ? Am I insane or just stupid ? Think about it that way : imagine the cold and unforgiving face of a gun staring at your head right now, would you go back to work and work harder than ever ? Sure you would. Well that's the situation I've just voluntarily put myself in.
My goal is now to make at least 1500 - 2000? (USD 1908 - 2544) per month within the next few months, not only because I'd like to, but because I'll NEED it to survive there.
Actually I'll still have an alternative in case of failure : I could get any job (even burger flipping) for minimum wage and make a decent living.
But failure is not an option, and I don't want to flip burgers.
Epilogue:
I went back from Luxembourg on friday night with the paperwork done for my new flat there, which means I had passed the point of no return. Once home, I immediately got back to work and already started to seriously implement new methods, including CPA (zip submit and adult dating affiliate) and creating several new MNS (monetized with CB, Amazon and AdSense depending on the topics.) I also started to write this book I've always wanted to but never started, and I'm thinking a few serious businesses to start. I'm a former master of procrastination, and I've never been so productive before, because I now have to in oder to afford the life I've already chosen.
I won't insult you be saying yet another time "take action" because you read this already in every other post on BHW. But I hope that you got what I mean in this post, and that you now realize what you have to do to get the life you want.
Set your goals and get to work hard toward them. If you need this kind of threat as a motivation,
then take risks (such as getting first the life you want but can't afford, then you'll have no choice but working hard until you can actually afford it and before drowning)
Now please take a minute to picture the life you have right now and the one you will have in six months if you keep the same routine.
Then picture the life you would like to have in six months.
Done ?
Now you know what to have to do.
