I just want to point out we have both a core and a spam update going on at the same time.

We have also not had an update shorter than 10 days in the last year

(given, last october spam update was just 2 days)

Most chances are that it happened because of recent update. You should diversify to other income methods.

A major ranking drop on some keywords can occur due to algorithm updates, increased competition, technical issues, or changes in content quality.
