Title —Title tags are used to tell search engines and visitors what any given page on your site is about in the most concise and accurate way possible. Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag, or as many characters as will fit into a 512-pixel display. If you keep your titles under 55 characters, you can expect at least 95% of your titles to display properly.
Meta Description - this will show-up in search engine before user clicks. The meta description is a ~160 character snippet, a tag in HTML, that summarizes a page's content. Search engines show the meta description in search results mostly when the searched for phrase is contained in the description. Optimizing the meta description is a very important aspect of on-page SEO
Robots Tag - Make sure the tag is properly used (follow, index)
Internal Links - Link to related pages properly, do not purposely link, it is advisable if there is realy need of linking. DO NOT OVER LINK. (5 to 6 links in 600-700 words article would be fine)
Images / Videos - Have relevant images and alt tags.
Body Tags (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6) When writing your articles, you should break up your content into smaller sections & paragraphs to make it easier for people to read. These sections can be given heading, which is where H1, H2,H3, H4, etc. tags are used.
Generally H1 tags are reserved for your main page title, with subsequent headings (just like the ones I have used throughout this post) being issued H2, H3, etc. Search engines use these to determine what is important within your content. This is why keyword rich headines are more useful than generic ones. Make sure you write keyword rich headings in the order of priority in H1, H2 and H3 title tags. They are used by many crawlers to differentiate important content.
URL Structure - Try not to have query based URL structure (special characters: ?*@!(&^). Use hyphens, a more common way (ex: /web-page). Most Useful feature.
Keywords - Bold keywords, Sprinkle keyword across the article 3-4 times (500-600 words article) and also use synonyms of it.
Final one - Update your sitemap.xml and submit to webmaster tools.
