Hi guys,

I am making an e-commerce site using woocommerce. I have just integrated Mailchimp for newsletters on my site and am surprised that Mailchimp collects all the store information, including store total revenue. WTF? I don't want anybody from Mailchimp staff to see my store revenue. Can I disable this? If not, do you know any alternative to Mailchimp for woocommerce that wouldn't collect this info?

Cheers

Mailchimp collects the order and email information. That's why they can track orders. It should be in the privacy statement.
Also, they are pretty big company, they wouldn't care about customers info :)

Go with getresponse or aweber

All ESP works within the same technology structure, they will have access to your data, if there is plugin or javascript code implemented on the website.

Unless you have the completion tracking script on your site, I don't think they can track completed orders anyway.

Thanks, guys, that's very helpful info.

Do a test order. Then inspect the confirmation page. I am sure there's some kind of JS script there. Your goal would be to remove that script. ;)

If you don't want them to see your customer data, don't use their integration.
You can still use mailchimp (or other providers manually). I would advise against this though, since e-mail automation can save you a lot of time.
