Hi, I turned off double opt-in on mailchimp but I want to send a welcome email to give the subscriber a free ebook. However, when the double opt-in is turned off the welcome email is not sent. Why is this??? And should I just leave the double opt-in on? thanks

guess cause you could be adding them urself so they must double opt in to they know they are legit and should get a welcome mail maybe

You can leave it on. You can always contact MC for help though

Why turn it off? You only want the highest quality and most interested people. IF they are too lazy to check thier email and verify...they don't deserve to be in my list TBH.
