    Hi Guys,

    I have time but not a lot of money :(
    But i'm concerned that my website (Magento 1.5) isn't up to scratch with its SEO.
    So i'm looking to see if anyone would do an audit of it for me for $ and then give me a detailed SHT list of things that may need configuring.
    Anything that is way over my head or ability I'm happy to pay for, but don't want to waste ur time and my money on stuff i could do.

    Example: Although i'm Page 1 Pos 4 for my main key word... the Google description sucks...and can i figure out how to fix it? can i fk!

    Google Description:-
    Bogota Picks · Raider Picks · Universal Bump · Ring Hook · S.E.R.E Bracelet · SPEC OP's Lock Pick Case · LOCK PICK HANDLES · LOCK PICK CASES · BUMP ...

    In short i just want to get a grip of the site before i start working on link building, so i guess i'm looking for a Magento Guru / Mentor.

    Fingers crossed someone can help out this newbie???

    Storm

    You shouldn't be using Magento unless you're running walmart dot com...it's difficult to find anyone willing to work on Magento for a cheap price...id say pay someone for an seo consult here then take that list to a magento specialist in India. If your site was built on something like opencart, shopify, or wordpress (I could go on) then this would be a really simple cheap task...but from a development/code standpoint, Magento is a ridiculous, badly structured, almost ALWAYS unnecessary BEAST of a CMS (content management system) - and bad web development advice has caused tons of small/med business' to become 'stuck with magento'. Running an ecommerce site can be cheap, but with Magento it can also be VERY expensive in the long run (even though it is a free open source CMS).

    google 'magento tweaks' i remember some guy offering cheap item-by-item magento "tweaks" through his website.

    Oh and btw your site descirption is determined by a 'meta description' tag located in the head section of your html.
    HTML:
    <meta name="description" content="Your website descirption goes here">
    However google may still decide to present the bad description it had before, or will usually present a unique description based on what the user typed into search - all you can do is make sure you have this meta tag.

    Good luck!

    "Told you so's" aren't helping my moral...lol

    Thanks for the feedback though, so 2 years in and i'm pretty much stuck with the beast, although mostly works fine for me... just want to get as much (correct) tweaking done, before i start driving a back link campaign. cheers
