Made $30 on two articles today

Redtide, Great thread.

I am new new here, just today, and I love what you and the gang have posted.

I have a qwerstion for you. (they can say that in NY) When you talk about rewriting articles are you posting the rewrites with AC? If you get ten rewrites you post them all there?

And if a they are given exclusive rights, does a rewrite make still give them exclusive rights? One published there and the rewrite else where.

How much original must a rewrite be to be original content?

You maybe already addressed this. I read about the first four pages and did not see anything about it.

Thanks from this noob for the great info.

please help me as ur x-mas gift to me

Really? C'mon. I do believe that the issue of non-us citizens and up front payments has been covered. I'm sure I saw that question posed a number of times within this thread. Have you really reviewed EVERY page in this thread yet?

Hi,

This is a very good thread to motivate alot of newbies... Many thanks for sharing it..

@ KatEaster - Yeppers, the rewites get posted to AC which is what the thread is all about. ;)

If you're submitting with exclusive rights, you can still rewrite that version and submit it elsewhere. If it's submitted as exclusive, you just can't copy/paste it anywhere else.

Like we've talked about before, the rewrite will need to be at least 85% unique from the original in order to pass Copyscape and be accepted by AC as new, unique content.

I'm glad the info has been helpful. If you're serious about working AC I would recommend reading/scanning through the whole thread and taking some notes.

Cheers,

Red

I saw the hints about "News Items" reviewing this thread and I just submitted one. Hopefully it goes well. :) In the mean time I will keep reading through this thread to improve my other articles that I'm working on.

Has anybody else noticed a dramatic decrease in page views over the last couple of weeks? For the first half of the month I was averaging like 1500-2000 a day, but recently I've only been seeing about half of that. I know AC had some glitches going on, so I didn't know if that played any part in it, or if it was just me.

Redtide- Can you PM me? I'm interested in buying some articles from you (probably 20-100 per day). Also anyone else who writes articles please PM me too!

@ vicious - Just keep in mind that AC's news editors are some of the toughest nuts to crack, and can be pretty picky.

@ superdude - Actually, last month I was having page view issues similiar to what you described, but this month everything has been a lot more accurate. Like you mentioned, they've been having issues (what else is new?) with the page view totals lately, but they've always had them updated for me by the time I'm paid out each month.

Understood, I'll see what how they respond and tweak in response so I can get the hang of news articles. Does AC ever look down on someone continuously doing news items?

As a heads up there is a $25 assignment out. 7 days left for it. It isn't guaranteed payment but it also has no set rules. You can write about anything.

EDIT: There are special guidelines to this assignment. Pretty straight forward though. Submit your best piece of work. No SEO or standard writing.

Cool...thanks for the heads up about the posted assignment.

As far as the news category, yeah, it's generally not a good idea to submit too often to it or it gives them a reason to scrutinize your accounts. It kind of depends on the rejection ratios you're having as well. If you've had a few rejected, you won't want to keep hitting them with more until at least a week or so has passed. When I was submitting to it I was sending no more than 2 pieces every couple of days without any problems.

Okay thanks. No problem about the updated assignments. I has only 4 assignments on my desk (all video) and then a lot more started showing up. Yeah, my news article was denied. Apparently the subject has been covered too much in the news. So I guess I should try news analysis. I just don't get what they mean by " [FONT=&quot]we encourage you to submit original news reporting" if they don't particularly like things that have been published or aired by other news outlets.

Before they stopped paying upfronts for news pieces the best way to get things accepted was to make up your own "local news stories" and present it from a first person perspective. With no more upfronts being offered for them, it's probably going to be best to just pull from celebrity news and the "gossip of the day" in order to milk the PV's and performance payments for all their worth. ;)

Thanks for the tip. I have probably less than 10 articles that are PV only and I'm looking to make more. Popular news items really seem to pull in PVs.

On average between 30 and 40 articles a day. Pretty much the same as when I started the thread.

how many writers do you use to write that many articles? Any suggestions for finding good writers when you virtual no money to invest?

Actually, the first two pages of the thread hold both of your answers in detail. ;)

Just got a large batch of articles accepted by ac for 3.50 and up, only had one article rejected and that was because i forgot to cite my sources, i was a bit sceptical at first about writing articles, but when you really put in the work and use redtide's tips then its all worth it,

thanks again red.:)

Damn!! Its been almost a week now and AC hasn't reviewed the two articles I sent them. I know that sometimes they take upto 2 weeks, but this is really getting me nervous now!

What's the average review period? I know its been posted earlier, but I forgot which page.LOL!

@xxjack189, how many articles did you put up? And how long did the buggers take to review the content??

UPDATE: I checked out my account and saw to my pleasant surprise that one of my article was accepted for 2.98$ but the other was rejected. The topic was too broad so I think I'll just narrow it down and post again. 2.98$ is less than I expected, though. I'll work harder and see if I can get 3.5$ for my next article.
