Made $30 on two articles today

I was thinking this was probably the case with the numbers you posted, glad it got cleared up. I'm still talking to everyone I can to try to figure out why you're having rejection issues. My AC source won't be abe to dig into it for us until this Thurs. Again, it's strange because things are status quo with the majority of people I've talked to.

Like I said, for now I would do some testing by submitting the rejections to other accounts and see if it's a flagging issue.

Hey, the numbers were still pretty close, just +/- a few.

Is there any connection between promoting via twitter and accounts getting this message for all articles posted? As you can tell by my clout/articles submitted on that account, I have been promoting it on twitter a lot. Maybe too much?

Thanks for the help, and I tried submitting a few with some new ones on a different account. Will see how that goes. :)

I don't see why that could end up being a negative though. AC are all about using Twitter to promote for page views. What kind of Twitter users are you targeting when you follow people?

Well I am using 20-25 twitter accounts(maybe this is why) and they are all the same niche as the articles on that account

Hmm...I'm just not seeing how it could be a problem. If you're following other AC writers and they sense that you may be doing rewrites then it could be an issue with them flagging you, but it doesn't seem like that would be the the case in this instance mate.

Hey Red, When publishing news items, how fast do you usually have to have the story submitted by before it becomes ineligible to receive the 4.00 upfront payment

also I've heard horrer storys about how evil the news editor section is... what are some main things to keep in mind when going for the 4 dollar upfront

last question, if I'm not ready to deal with the hassles of the evil news item editors, would I be able to post news for regular upfront payments to avoid them and still maybe get close to $4 upfront offers?

Thanks in advance

Can't post news in general section. I tried that when starting off. They say it is "too time sensitive" and will most likely give nothing or .99

@ AnthraxX - There's no time limit with the news category. Basically, just write your article and submit it when it's done. Because it's time sensitive they will review it within 24 hours. Regarding your second question, it's better to talk about that in PM mate.

@ twoJ04 - I've got some info for you but it's best to keep it away from prying eyes. Btw, were the string of declines all in the same niche?

News section is really hard to crack. Yesterday 3 news articles got declined:(
can I resubmit them today with slightly editing?

This is my first post on the forum. I don't consider myself a "black hatter" -- (maybe more of a gray hatter now that I've tried a few things on this forum!) In fact, I never heard of the term before I stumbled on this site (via the AC forums, of all places).

I've been with AC for the last 7 months and have made okay money. I've been reading this forum for a few weeks, and I've tried a few things I learned from here (for example, rewriting old magazine articles that aren't online or writing a "personal experience" when in reality, I made it all up). And yes, it's working :)

However, I want to step it up...my upfronts suck. My highest was $4.50 and my lowest was received today at only $1.25...and I'm a clout 9 so I must be doing something right in terms of PV's, but they're not upping the ante with the upfronts. I've also never recieved a partner call :( Perhaps I keep missing them. I never really checked out the assignment desk prior to few weeks ago!

I rewrite the articles myself but it takes a long time, to the point where they really are 100% original and I pull from sources online too...so they're not really rewrites. I'm still new to the SEO thing so I'm still learning. I guess I'm just looking to find ways to rewrite faster, generate more ideas for articles, learn SEO better, get better upfronts, and other AC strategies.

I'm going back and forth with purchasing the e-book. It seems as though it's geared toward people outside the USA (which I am not) or for those who want to hire freelancers (I'm just not sure if I'll ever have enough courage to go down that route). Is this book for someone like me?

Also I have a random AC question about the assignment desk. Why is it that AC says it doesn't like recipe articles because they don't generate pageviews, yet 75% of the assignment desk currently is asking for recipes (no upfront, but still...) WTF? Why do they post that crap if it doesn't get PVs?

Also, news articles...I had one accepted that I rewrote...then 3 declined. How do they expect us to come find an ORIGINAL news story? Anything NEWSWORTHY is already going to have some type of article about it on the internet, otherwise how would we know about it in the first place? :)

Thanks!
-Happy :)

@ Bh_Mainc - Yeah, you have to do things "just so" to consistently get things accepted in the news category like I talk about a lot in the book. If they didn't give you a message telling you what EXACTLY was wrong and what to edit for resubmission, I would definitely not try to resubmit it the news category at all, they will recognize the articles for sure.

@ happy - Welcome to the forum. No pressure regarding the book, but I will say that it's definitely not just geared towards non US citizens and outsourcing. In fact, those are small areas of what the book revolves around. There's also a complete chapter on SEO and how it relates to upfronts, clout and partner calls.

As far as the situation with recipes, it's AC we're talking about...what else needs to be said? They've got their own theories in the AC forum on this (take it for what it's worth considering how off base some of the opinions are there)

Regarding the news category, I have to refrain from comment to protect the content of the book on that one ;)

How exactly do i get partner calls? You guys keep saying it has been adressed and yet i've read 10 pages back and still only have a small idea on how to get these calls.
I have clout level 5 and like 30 articles approved, but most of this was about 6 months ago. Do i need more recent articles?

My complaint for tonight:

If AC wasn't cluttered enough...I noticed they just added the "Was this helpful" voting to their site.

Pretty soon not many people will be able to read their site with so much ads and other unnecessary stuff there.

Couldn't they make it smaller and put it next to the print feature?

Oh well, money is money, right?

I am NOT sure who brought this domain but it is hilarious that I found it tonight. Does AC have a recipe site the users do not know about? LOL.

Welcome to the forum HappyHolidays. Wish you a very Merry writing success (ok I tried, lol).

@ Millygirl - lol I know, they're adding all of these dreadful features but haven't been able to fix the most basic of IT problems (most of them adversely affecting contributers, not AC themseleves)

Hi Gladiator,

I don't know the exact page, but make sure you start with Social Bookmarking/Networking your articles and content producer page. Also, somewhere between 8-12 pages back I talked about my Twitter method that's helped my page views dramatically.

Also, I got a heads up today that AC is cracking down on people submitting too many articles in the same niche. Not sure if it's affecting your upfronts but make sure you're spreading out the submission of articles that are in the same niche instead of submitting them back to back. The word is that you'll be fine if it's no more than three articles per account per day on the same niche/general topic.

Make sure you're proofreading every submission for the basics... spelling, grammar punctuation and then confirm that each article has a catchy title with keywords used at the beginning, a descriptive subtitle (also with keywords), an attention grabbing first paragraph etc. Like you said mate, go back and read the book and take some notes of the key points as well.

Cheers,

Red

Red does your book help with multiple Paypal Ac's and collecting from AC with regards to this technique?. Say I have 100 AC accounts and I wanted to use AC Mass submitter to submit 30 daily spread across all accounts. How do I work the paypal side of it out. 100 accounts would mean 13 paypal accounts - 8 emails each. But I have seen AC look accounts using the same Paypal a/c with just different emails...... how do I get around this whats the best solution?

Hi yardyblack,

Yes, the book covers multiple account creation and the best way to deal with Paypal/AC accounts in length. One question though, why are you wanting to create 100 AC accounts? There's honestly no need for that.

hi redtide

...i got a simple question ...i will creat 5 AC accounts...and use 5 paypal emails with them....then take every article and rewrite it with power article rewriter and turn that article into 5 versions "same article with 5 spins" using par...then i will submit those 5 articles to the 5 accounts "one each"...the question is: is that right or is there somethin wrong.....
really appreciate ur help redtide...thanx
