Safari is pretty wack.
Chrome hands down but Firefox for the greasemonkey shit and plugins. Unfortunately we're tied to those two browsers.
Yes, you definitely need vmware or parallels so you can run all the windows apps on.

And just to add to the thread, you can now get SRware Iron for OSX, so no more Google Chrome Spyware crap for those that don't trust The G! Saying that though, i don't think it likes it's extensions much!

I thought it was just me, I got 2 Mac's a Mac Pro & a 22 inch mac for my home studio, and safari suck major ballz

Why would anyone use firefox which is 20 times slower than Safari and Chrome even if you're on, I don't know, 1TB internet connection. Sarafi+Glims kick some serious Firefox ass, if you need add-ons. But if you prefer clean and fast browsing use Chrome.
Someone also said they use VLC, well, I (and most people used to normal user-oriented interface most "developed for Mac" apps use (Firefox is not in this category)), hate it, and use QT10+Perian which can read all formats VLC can read except for MKV. Until the new Perian comes out at least. Another handy app you might want to consider is AppZapper for "uninstalling" apps (i.e. deleting preference panes and registries most applications leave behind when you trash them), Acquisition for P2P, Toast for burning media, RarMachine for .rar files and Transmit for FTP. Also, another handy freeware which lets you log out without having to quit all your running applications is MacLoc.

Mental! I bought Concentrate after seeing you recommend it and I bought Vitamin-R 2 days ago off my own bat!
(We must have been separated at birth!)I also recommend and I recommend this very, very highly, Slife.
This is without a shadow if a doubt, the ultimate in time management, especially when coupled with Isolator and Vitamin-R/Concentrate and Lumina/iClockr.
Get Vitamin-R and Slife set-up and it will move your productivity onto a whole new plain. Slife doesn't seem like much, but trust me!

Just found an even better tool for productivity than Slife. Unfortunately it costs monet, only $6-$9 a month, but it's ********ing ace, especially with Vitamin-R along side.

I have a macbook pro that's a beast. I got tired of using bootcamp and having to restart, so I bought Parallels and just run it in coherence mode. So Windows is running as a virtual machine in the background and pulling as much processing power and RAM as it needs at the time. It varies. But I'm simply looking at the mac screen like nothing has changed, and I can open up whatever programs I want from Windows just like it was a mac program.
