I love watching soccer now because of this years world cup, it actually inspired me to get a pair of boots and go out to the field every now and then, but the flopping is ridiculous.

If the dude was gashed open from a gnarly bite that was CLEARLY on purpose, I wouldn't mind the whole debacle. To me it just seems like it was a wrong place, wrong time sort of sitatuion.

Suspending a dude for two years because he scratched a guy with his teeth is pretty crazy in my opinion.

Considering this is the third time he has done it?

You can quite clearly see from the video replays what he was trying to do, who runs into someone's shoulder head first with their mouth open?

I wasn't aware that biting is okay as long as you don't draw blood.

Well, I wasn't aware that it was the third time, but I still say that it isn't a big deal.

Then again, a main component of soccer is acting like you're hurt ;).
 
The guy clearly has got a loose screw. Three strikes law should be applied and he should be hammered with a lengthy ban. But at least he's entertaining. One couldn't ever say he lacks bite....

Haha I can kind of see what you're saying but I wouldn't say it isn't a big deal, perhaps my pre-existing hate for Suarez is clouding my mind.

Football leadership doesn't care about fair play but only in words for political correctness. If it did, it would have done 2 simple things:
a) Would have allowed video assistance for the referees
b) Would have punished any player (and his team) who tried to cheat the referee by diving

The fact that it does not, says it all.

Very well said. Referees need a great deal more support and we also need to bring in retrospective action for any players that are seen to try and unfairly gain an advantage by falling over and feigning injury.

Unfortunately Football is turning more and more into a non-contact sport.

Honestly, much like the three strike rule in US legislation, it should apply to soccer as well. It's not like this was the first time, or the second he did it. This is the third damn time. Couple that with his blatant racism and passive response that "its part of the game", I don't see how he shouldn't be banned the maximum 24 months. It's really a shame, a player of his skill, to be such an immature and stupid person. The puns were nice though, thanks!
 
WOW! Now Su@r3z is saying that Chiellini, the defender, had thrust his shoulder purposefully into Su@r3z' mouth! :D

He further states that such things do happen on the field and we need not give it much importance... :D:D:D

I can't believe it, Suarez's lawyer claiming some kind of conspiracy? It's almost like he wants to make himself look ridiculous.

The guy is a real a$$hole. Anyone who saw the video sees him jumping, then sinking his mouth into a shoulder, will now know that he is not just a hardened biter, but also a stup!d liar of the highest degree.

If you see carefully, @ approx. 00:06 video time, the ball is in the left corner and still with the players there, and this guy is near the goal. He jumps -- why? The ball is no where in the air nearer to his head. So no justification for him to jump... and then he purposefully bites the shoulder (@00:29, @01:08). The defender isn't even doing anything at that time; Suarez is the only guy who ISN'T looking at the action near the left corner... that's how I see him as the biter and not as a victim of bad propaganda.

With the number of cameras present at World Cup games, Fifa will have a multitude of angles to look at. Hopefully he'll get a very hefty ban this time, just what he deserves.
