Lost my backlinks last year, is that possible?

It's a part of the game, some links last for a long time, some not.
If the seller's network got busted/deindexed, they'll set up a new one on expired domains and continue selling links as nothing has happened. They don't care if the old ones are dead. Some sellers will replace the links if they are gone within 3 months, in most cases no longer then that.
If you want to keep your links alive for as long as possible and have full control of them, start setting up your own PBN. It'll cost you less to maintain it than paying for 'premium' links.
For having pbns you need to have diversity links, right? What about this then?
I have NO idea what you mean by saying 'diversity links'. Please define it or describe the kind of links you have bought without mentioning the seller. That would help a lot.
I think diversity links means that having different types of links is a pré before starting PBN's? At least that's what people adviced me.

It does signify loss of backlinks.
But, you need to understand link building is a long term process. You can't simply create backlinks ones and hold on to it and keep generating money with the ranking you achieved from it.
However, it is always recommended to buy good quality backlinks that stay for a long time and give you positive results and you can recover the money and make profit while you have ranked with it.
No link building service guarantees being live for a long time....Besides as someone mentioned above there are different reasons why the links might have dissappeared, like change in network, google deindexing the websites that offered the links,etc.

That's not true, low quality and profile links are useless. And there are no pre-requests before building links from PBNs, be your own or someone else. Diversity in terms of no follow and do follow links is good.

i think you just lost many backlinks you can ask for the new links or if You have the details why your link was removed
