Lost Everything!

Has anyone else in the past 2 days lost all their traffic and rankings.

My website was getting 2500 users a day and I checked yesterday and I had 20.
All my rankings have completely gone.

Ive not had a manual action. The pages are all indexed. I did have a DMCA claim against one of my pages but I removed the content and added a redirect and pinged my sitemap.

Any help with be much appreciated as I have no idea why everything has disappeared.

Maybe something to do with the latest Google update that was shared on here?
 
in you guys cases, any artificial link building take place?
 
WTF, one of my sites, affiliate one, the one that was ranking for few keywords, the one I was thinking of working on after my major sites affected by core updates are solved. Well, seem like, this one is also *cked now. I mean what's wrong with google, when I type my keyword, they are showing Popular products, wherein they are ranking products based on reviews people like us gave with all our heart and soul. But nice google, I'll take revenge one day or other. But first, I'll claim my throne back for all my sites. Period.

erm, I have a few links from websites I’ve mentioned on my blog just linking to the page they are featured on but that’s natural.
Other links I have signed up to website and added my website link into the profile before. Do you think that’s the issue. I don’t have nearly as many as 100s of other sites in my niche

if you have a ton of these it would be worth considering disavowing the profiles if they seem keyword rich/spammy.

Do you use affiliate links? This could be the other issue if your articles are unique hand written and no backlink spamming?

Ofcourse its all speculation whether this update was for on-page or off-page or both.

Google is a real POS

I’d my side hustle, to be honest, I could imagine trying to live off Google rankings. You’d Be homeless
 
This also happened to me too, I lost 90% of my traffic in one day. What is the way forward now? Should I start over or wait maybe Google will reverse this changes later. Going down from 19k pageviews to only 2k pageviews is insane.

All my top ranking articles disappeared form search engine, I mean I can't even find them at all.

The best thing I'll recommend is to get serprobot, or some ranking tracker put in all keywords, and start making changes to existing content. Follow the latest google major updates - https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-algorithm-history/ and see if you did something wrong.

Well, losing 90% of traffic is what google does. Like its the norm. You should plan your business based on it. And, I what happened to you, happened to me 2 years at the exact time of year!

Its google shuffle, you have tested their traffic and know it converts, its time pay for it and let someone else test it. Of course by going to google PPC. Which I did btw.

However, you should lose you traffic by going down in ranking by few positions. Second page at worst cases. However those picture shared in the thread where you are gone out completely! This is totally new and I have never seen it before unless there is a penalty.
 
Btw, you have not lost everything. You generated traffic and made some bucks. It was an investment. You put money and time to make more money.

If you did that, then you are a winner. Like better than 99% of people out there. And your learnt a lot in the process. You were able to rank a website and get traffic which is huge. So, you shouldn't see it as Everything and if you were profitable then it was a success

Happened to 4 of my affiliate and one info sites. 1 hit in March update, 2 in May, 1 in Sep(info one), and 1 in Oct(the pic shared above).
