I agree. I was born in Nigeria and spent approx 20 years there. Unfortunately, the media projects things the way they want to. For me, my experience with Nigerians was a memorable one. The common Nigerian is a very friendly, helpful, hard-working & trustworthy person. Here where I am in India, I always tell people the reality that there are MORE AND BIGGER Indian scammers in Nigeria than the number of Nigerian scammers in India. And this is quite true infact. The Indian scammers in Nigeria do not scam online, they scam in the real world (offline), in millions, from the govt, the banks, etc. Anyone can just Google "Sandesara in Nigeria" : just one out of MANY real examples. So, I am NOT pointing fingers here, I am providing verifiable info.
In the US, Indians are nowadays famous for call center scams, IRS scams, etc. Just Google "Indians call center IRS scams" and anyone can see for themselves.
More and more Indians are parking their stolen money into Swiss banks, just Google "indians swiss banks". Money parked by Indians in Swiss banks increased by 50% in 2021 and yes, ALL that is stolen money.
Anyways, bottomline is there are scammers everywhere and from everywhere in the world. And there are also good people everywhere in the world INCLUDING Nigeria, India and all other countries. Those of us who are good, need to make or try our best to make this world a better place.
By the way, I have noticed that in many niches, the top sellers in Fiverr are from Nigeria (as per their profile info).
