Lost $21,250.00 already...

lol, I was waiting for the whole story to turn into some kinda 419 scam actually... Sorry dude, but I can see why they are asking for 3 documents cuz it does sound like you are trying to pull some kinda scam... You just need to get 3 documents somehow. I moved from CA to TX and it was a hassle, had to surrender my CA DL and everything to get one there, now I am moved back to CA and CA says I have to take the damn driving test again! So I said screw it and kept my TX one and my TX residency too... CA wants to screw with me then they wont get any tax money from me anymore... My business is just my name anyway, so my problems are easier to overcome. Good luck to you man.

I had no idea this post was still receiving replies. So, I wanted to update for all who were kind enough to reply, even the ones who were rude for no reason. (God created mankind. Ignorance created ALL kinds)

In a nutshell: I paid the $10 fee, got fingerprinted for a background check, dowloaded the forms, and went to court here (in TX) to have my name legally changed. I had been fingerprinted for insurance purposes on a film 11 years ago (THANK GOD) so I was able to prove I am who I am...I am who I was...yadda, yadda, yadda.

It only cost about $200, a VERY LONG lunch break, and it was a done deal. I took the papers back to the DMV and they actually CALLED THE COURT to make sure I didn't make up the papers. Gotta love 'em.

I sure hope this thread doesn't end with some variation of a Nigerian-style email that says, "Oh, great news, I may be able to get my $150,000 back by the deadline if I could just wire $10,000 to the financial officer at my bank. I'm broke but in return I'll give you $30,000. I'm just so pissed at my ex!"

HAHA i thought exactly the same after reading it :)

Wow good luck man.. I kow I've had issues getting I.D's and SS cards... you know the ol' catch 22 where one office excepts certain documents but not others and visa versa.. Big pain in the ass!
