Hi,

I am planning to create and maintain 500+ wordpress blogs on different domains and I am looking for a reputable hosting company which offers great support an no server downtime.

I preferably looking for companies who are professional in WP hosting.

Could anyone point me to such a hosting company please?

hostgator is now offering fully supported vps with cpanel at reasonable prices.
they have all sorts of packages depending on your bandwidth requirements and such..

Anyone here tried Hostgator VPS plans? Price is not important to me. I just wanted a service which I stay with them for a long time and satisfied with their QOS.

try the one on my signature. i have close to 300 wordpress autoblogs on one single vps. and its fully managed.

The guaranteed RAM is much lower than the one provided with HG. As far as I know WP is RAM intensive.

How much RAM I need for 500+ WP installed website?

Yeah I use hostgator for alot of my sites and they are pretty good. The best one i believe is rackspace i have 4 servers with them now and there support is awesome! 24/7 always someone there to help!

Aint the cheapest but you get what you pay for, however for a price point hostgator is a better bet if money is an issue.

The money is not the issue. I have heard good news about Rackspace before.

Other suggestions for WP optimized VPS hosting solution?

For ram usage use Lighttpd instead of apache, and TinyDNS instead of Bind9 for name server. This can save you already between 100-200MB of ram

As for providers, I use unmanaged and go for cheap, I have tried lots and lots, and have stuck with teamvps.com and burst.net for nearly 1 year now, I manage not asmany sites as you though on one package, I tend to put upto 20 sites on one VPS and have no problems,

All my sites are wordpress

BTW there is no such thing as WP optimised VPS, YOU optimise your VPS for wordpress, thats the whole idea

Anyone using this hosting service?
Code:
http://wpwebhost.com/

Looks like they are people with solid knowledge of WP.

Thank you for your valuable information. I will consider your advice while choosing the VPS plan.

What I mean by WP Optimized VPS, is that I am looking for a reliable hosting company which their technical team are skilled in WP.

Currently I am running several website in Joomla and I am with a hosting company which their tech guys are from Joomla core development team and when I ask something related to joomla they know what I am trying to do because they already know what Joomla is and can help me to fix the issues I am having with my joomla website easily.

for finding new hosts to try I always check out the VPS section of webhostingtalk forums have you had a look there yet?

forgot to mention, use the coupon vps11yrs, gives you loads more of ram and diskspace

I just gave a shot on webhostingtalk but there are lots of companies beeing reviewed and I think that would take me lots of time to read through each thread! I want to come up with 2 or 3 company here and they continue my research on webhostingtalk.

I highly recommend Linode. Accounts start at $19.95. I have been with them for over a year. You'll have to have some Linux sys-admin skills to get set up. I have not had a single day of down time in the entire year.

Hey thats cool I'm afraid I dont have any experience with managed servers as all my VPS management is done in house.

Not sending you away to another forum but perhaps this same thread would get a more detailed range of responses on that forum?

Anyway good luck on your quest I hope you find what you need :)

I have not much knowledge about system administration and I prefer to purchase a service which is fully managed.
