    Hello All.

I write for an online technology magazine in the U.K., and I want to write an article on "Black Hat SEO". I want to write and article that treats it in a fair and serious way, and I'm looking for someone to interview on the topic. Specifically, I'm looking for a Black Hat SEO advocate who can talk about the advantages and disadvantages, both the positive uses AND the abuses, the benefits and the pitfalls, based on first-hand experience.

Now... when I say "interview", it really is going to have to be more of just a conversation, because I have a lot to learn.

I'd like to talk to someone who actually has experience using tools that generate bulk comments, backlinks, even bulk blog posts. I'd like to hear some first-hand stories about how these tools are supposed to be used, and some stories about ways that people who don't know what they are doing mis-use them or use them incorrectly. I'd even like to get a little philosophical with someone who is an advocate of "Black Hat SEO" and hear a spirited defense of it: a response to the naysayers.

    Does this sound like you?

It can be done over email or over the phone, however you prefer. I'm more than happy to treat anyone that I talk to as an anonymous informant. I really don't care about naming companies or software or websites or anything like that... I want to write an article that talks about the personal experience of doing Black Hat SEO: why someone does it, what it's actually like, and the ups and downs they have encountered with it.

If you have the experience, and want to help me write a fair and serious article on this topic, drop me a message. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Hello All.

I just wanted to drop a follow-up note to my post two weeks ago, requesting to talk to people about "Black Hat SEO" for an article that I was writing.

My article is now published online at Kernel Magazine (Google "KernelMag")

My editor decided to put a negative spin on the title ("The Grubby World of Comment Spam"), but I would love for anyone interested to read through the entire piece. I actually tried to be very even-handed in the write-up: pointing out that there are both "good" and "bad" ways of using blog comments for advertising, pointing out that even Google is guilty of some of the very same things that it says other people should NOT do, and so on.

So please check it out, and feel free to let me know what you think.

    Greg
