Hi. I'm looking for a good webhosting. I tried hostwinds but I don't like it at all. After 20 hours they didn't update their nameservers and they did it only after I asked them. Finally after getting my domain to work, I uploaded my script and access was denied for db connections. After few tries my DB got blocked because of connections errors. This is outrageous. I should give up on them since I made the order - right after ordering I got an error and was flagged as fraud. I'm looking for something $5 a month. I heard that stablehost is good, but so I heard about hostwinds.

I've recently set up a few different hosting accounts to do some testing and the one I preferred the most thus far is asmallorange.
Crazy name but the support is very good and the pricing not bad.
I set up new accounts with 3 others in the past month and of the 4 this one is the best thus far. I'll probably set up some more accounts with different hosts over the next month or so as well as part of my testing brigade but this is where I am at now.

I agree with the previous guy that recommended Stablehost. Normal price is $5.90 per month, even less with coupon.
In my experience you want to go with a host that: A. Does not move you around on different servers, B. has been around for a very long time, C. does not run some kind of basement operation, you figure this out by seeing how corporate they act, and D. don't make you jump through hoops, forcing you send in ID-copy and pictures of your children.
And of course, don't go with anyone that are pushing their services here on BHW, unless it is bulletproof hosting you want, or similar. Professional corporations are not hustling webhosting to us low-lifes, haha.
