I am making more money now but I have ZERO contact with other people. I might as well be living in a bubble in the middle of bumfuck NOWHERE. I'm still in school so my routine is pretty much: school - sleep - meditate - drink - IM - school - workout - meditate - IM - drink, etc... repeat ad nauseum. I feel lonely and bored, which is partly why I drink too much (although I have SEVERELY reduced my drinking bigtime). However, the quality of people in real life is just lacking. I have little in common with them, don't want to act stuck up/show off and generally just feel like I'm pretending to be someone else.

I really just feel lonely, isolated to the point where I feel like I'm dying inside. I wish I could meet more people like me, I'd give anything to have a good, decent social circle.

First off,Just be yourself regardless what other people think. Second, I understand how you feel, I recommend you find some type of socializing. I have a month taking salsa classes, going to the gym and just being more "out there" and it has worked out great.

I work from home and it can often get lonely, I have a dog, I listen to music, and I connect with likeminded people by just staying positive, and those people tend to enter my life.

I would suggest you listen to the Joe Rogan podcast, you'll love it, they talk about meeting likeminded people because social circles often involve a lot of dolts. It helped me get through a lot of things in life, they talk about topics that interest intellectual people, and it's funny as hell, they go off on tangents and dick jokes and a lot of other stuff, when you're working from home, it feels like you're surrounded by people, I suggest you listen in when you're working.

Don't worry about it, you're not alone. I only have a few, but true and close friends.
I rather have a few trustable friends than a horde of normal friends.

And yeap, it's because of the line of business we're in.
Heck, and not to mention, I'm more of an introvert when it comes to meeting new people.
Only when I know that person a few months, they'll see the real and crazy side of me :p

Sound lucky to me, I wish I had no one around me.

I feel you. I lack social life too. Good thing is I have my family who's just there beside me and few true friends. Maybe you should plan of going somewhere like a vacation with your family or friends.. just to wind up and relax.

Perhaps you are devoting too much time to IMing. You have to strike a balance with IMing, and the other stuff. All the money in the world, can not fill the other voids in your life. If anything, it creates more voids.

Good luck.

A fellow BHW member posted this channel here and I thought it was really cool. Maybe you should check it out too.

Lots of people feel that way man; every month or so, someone posts a thread or comment like this. It's perfectly normal to feel lonely/depressed when you don't hang out with anyone else because having a form of community is natural; animals join packs, fish swim in schools, birds join flocks...mating happens, etc.

I think dating or being married helps a lot with that loneliness, and it also doubles your circle of friends. However, you can't subject everyone to some arbitrary metric of what you consider 'quality'...the world needs goofy artists, simple Amish people, serious-minded carpenters, rocket scientists, grandmas that like to knit, college kids who dig the Grateful Dead, etc, etc. Everyone is unique, and most people I meet end up being a lot cooler after I get to know them a bit better. Sure, there are some morons out there...in fact, there are a lot, but perhaps the best thing for you, since you seem to be consumed with IM already, is to hang out with people who know absolutely zero about IM. You need that balance.

Anyway, if you are still craving IM-only types, then check out 'meetup' and you should find a couple groups nearby that are into IM and/or entrepreneurship.

pewep, you are experiencing the uncertainty of freedom.

An adventure is in order. You know that inner purpose you feel towards something inescapably meaningful to you? It's begging for a journey, man.

This is the most beautiful time of your life. Get out there. It was kind of made for you.

If you have some extra time find a group or class of things you like to hookup with people that like the same shit as you, you said you meditate, go to a meditating class and bang some hippie chicks.

you have plenty people in school ... if you find no contact there you have to change your attitude and comminication with other persons.

Btw thank you for all the tips guys, I really appreciate it :). BHW has kept me grounded many times.
