For those who saw the whole opening ceremony, what was your favorite part? I'd have to say Mr. Bean's performance was pretty good. Second to him was the way they showed and put together the whole 'History of England' segment. Even after thinking about it for a while, I still couldn't understand how they pulled it all off. They brought things out of nowhere.

I can't find a proper link to a video showing the whole ceremony, damn it.
I'll be honest, I didn't watch the whole ceremony 'cause I fell asleep.

#Peaceout.

Favorite part was either where the olympic rings came together, the Rowan Atkinson chariots of fire part and the James bond and the queen bit.

My favorite part was that my tv was the whole time off and that i wont support olimpics for big companies as the goal/idea of the olimpics were lost already many many decades ago

Haha! I have been watching the games all day for the past 2 days, and I can't recall seeing advertisements of 'big companies' .. All I see is hundreds of thousands of spectators having fun, and hundreds of athletes working their asses off to get the gold

It's not cool to rebel against everything, you know!

Advertisements are not the only way to make money. ;)

Haha, advertisements and all those money making advantages when big events occur.

Although the opening ceremony wasn't as good as the Beijing one, I still enjoyed it.
I'm doing my best to watch every single football match, Japan looks good so far.
What sports are you guys following?

yeah right its taking money from the poor peoples and pushing it to the big companies.
40 billion pounds just moved from public to big companies. The average joe has nothing from it and the sport part is a joke too its who has the better medicine equipment for doping which cant get traced.Capitol for international doping is spain and china. It has NOTHING to do anymore with sport and fair play idea it has only one function to earn companies big cash and to update the security to the newest level.

Yeah Japan are looking really good! They just beat the best team in the world... even if it was the beta team!

I live in London and I have to say I'm not happy with the situation. So many of the new structures will be torn down after the games and won't be available for public use. A big waste of public money in tough times. Even the transport infrastructure being built is long overdue and should have been done anyway. The traffic is awful, they closed Greenwich Park so none of the kids, including mine, can play during the summer holidays.

I love sport, but I think like everything the UK government gets its hands on it seems to be poorly organized and unfair. I couldn't get tickets despite trying 3 times, Londoners like me are footing the bill with council tax, and I haven't watched a single minute of the games but I've been told there are thousands of empty seats goen to waste.

Only the UK can earn this world record: The biggest, most expensive temporary building ever built... ie, we waste money better than anyone else possibly could.

I have to go with the James Bond skit which I understand only took one take to tape.

the symbolism made me sick. just pushing their Masonic, socialist healthcare agenda

I enjoyed it because It made me understand British history a little bit better well. I mean It was like you want to know what happen to the country really fast without picking up a book. BAM !

The Chinese dressed the US athletes in Maoist uniforms. Just a matter of time before they start implanting transponder microchips to keep track of everyone, where they go & what they say, particularly online. I hate the Olympics now, and could care less who "wins". It's nothing but an opportunity for Socialists to propagandize the masses.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and fellow Politburo members are loyal customers of her firm, Dayang Trands. So are U.S. billionaires Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. Former President George H.W. Bush donned one of the company's suits.

Whew! lol! Which is it? Socialists using the Olympics as a propaganda tool, or Corporations using it as a dirty capitalist tool to make bank? Funny how people can watch the same thing and come away with completely different messages.

Corporations + Government = Socialism

Corp-capitalism(big fat kid,who ate food of all kids in his class and wanna more food from other's class for himself)+Eu's socialism(german playground for big fat kid) now and national socialism(german nazism) or international socialism(communism) in the past.Find difference :)

I didn't watch all so called ceremony(because was really boring imho) :p but I don't think that you will understand fully for example "industry era" from watching some showtime with smiled adult actors...it's like talking about that what's happened in Japan 2011 for a some time in similar style:"we got fucked by Fukushima 100 years ago but now all is coloured and pinky so 100 years ago,it had to be such gay like now too",let's make showtime, where Japaneses will be played by Native Americans...
Nigga/Asian/Indian/Pakistani and whoever play in this multi-culti bullshit, please

Public events has to be pinky and gay as that's what target group demands from rulers-show us coloured lies in schema known from tv and we will believe that all is fine as you said.
You should understand it as marketers :p

the Olympics=roman's area for unhappy roman's mass long time ago=communist's parade's for "new people" not so long time ago
10+ for moral of modern "the average joe",who is going to believe that /her life doesn't suck because "we" have such event in our country or generally in "democracy". Then you can sell him/her some fantastic stories over and over again.

Too bad, that we were busy of so called fight about freedom in Tibet-"free Tibet 2008" sponsored by agencies related to CIA.
It had to be great opening ceremony.

No offence to the English but that was the biggest pile of shite I've ever seen, the Queen was that excited she sat down the whole time with a look of bewilderment on her face, should have let the chineese do it again now that was an opening ceremony!!

I am bored with it already, I live about three miles or more down the road. Money used for this shit could have helped feed the homeless, shelter poor families etc. The other disaster form a decade or so ago the dome sits looking out on the thames as I speak, local families have had to put up with a lot of shit in order to organise the games. Recently in the local papers there has been a row about locals arguing about surface to air missiles being placed on the top of their apartment blocks, waste of money, time, and effort
