About the healthcare.I guess you guys dont understand the sence about healthcare.Its nice that everyone is getting healthcare and i'm willing even to pay for it with my taxes but the bad part is that the government decides now for you which medicine you can buy and which not using the refunding system.They decided that alternative medicine (non pharma companies) are not good or like they say arent proofed that they work (which costs millions to proof) and you wont get a dime when you want heal yourself using an alternative way.There are many ways to cure cancer these days but they are all called alternative way because you dont need chemical stuff from big pharmas.Issue is you wont get a dime to cure this way (even many rich european people cure this way).The only way you will get funds is to make a risky operation or to take chemical staff and radiotion which kills your body.These costs 20k Euro and will be paid instantly but if you need 5k for an alternative way they decline it.So you pay money for healthcare and they decide what you can spend it on and what not.Maybe you still belive in your government but i dont expecially after seeing so many times how they poisened their own citizens knowing that medicaments had no real testing.Its controlled by the pharma cartell they are way more powerfull than governments and if you cant belive that i'm sorry but because of you i wont let my family destroy

Another good example is Insulin which people who have diabetic needs to pay for.The government only allows to buy Insuline from big companies and you wont find it from another east european country where the government produce itself the same Insulin out of swines for a cost of 1/25.So you could save a lot of money in healthcare.But this is not the purpose ,the purpose is to control that all money for medical staff will go to big companies

Some people need to get a grip - why is it that americans in particular throw a hissy fit at any mention of the NHS or "socialized medicine"? The NHS for all its faults is still a fantastic organization which has saved countless lives.

For those that may not be aware the "GOSH" thing they showed refers to the Great Ormand Street Hospital for children, and its charity, which treats the very sickest children (for free), some of which were actually there taking part in that section of the show and no doubt had the time of their lives. Also with them were real NHS nurses.

So a charity and hospital which saves childrens lives just got prime position on the biggest advertising space on the planet for free.. damn those money grabbing corporates eh?

Also the NHS was founded the same time as the olympics was previously held in London so that's another connection.

40B didn't just land in some fat-assed CEO's pocket. Who do you think built all those stadiums? Also the roads around them, the electricity cables, IT, water and sewage infrastructure servicing them? Who installed all the equipment? Who cleans them every day? Who cooks and serves the food there? Who is providing the (private) security? All that would be the average working joe.. tens of thousands of people earning salaries. Those salaries which they then spend so the money also goes around their communities. Also think of all the tourists flocking to London now who are no doubt spending masses of cash - hotels and B&B's, restaurants & cafes, pubs, taxis, tickets for all sorts of local attractions and on on.. that also doesn't all go to the fatcats.

Overall I thought the opening show was EPIC. So different, so many surprises along the way, bizarre at times and also very distinctly British and ultimately great entertainment for those able to keep an open mind. Oh and it also cost a fraction of the Chinese opening show.

sorry to say it but you are just writing what the media is writing 1:1 .Its like reading the newspaper which have the task to defend the expenses.Maybe you should first look at all expenses and tell me how much % the little joes are getting from it.About the NHS with the same funds they have i would save at least 5 times more lives just as info.I could write way more about NHS but it would be just time wasting for me.If you dont belive it make your research cause i did and know what i'm talking about

I did enjoy it... well it was ok, i watched it the next day when nothing else was on..probably could have been better for the amount of money it cost to make! lol

I still feel the Olympics will always be a 'consolation prize' to hosting the world cup...or the euros! which tbh, it shouldn't be.

I also did not like all the 'positive racism' but that is the UK (and a few other parts of the world) all over nowadays & was to be expected.

Almost all diabetes can be controlled by diet. Instead, taxpayers subsidize the inability of other people to exercise a degree of self-discipline. They'd rather eat to the point of morbid obesity and have me pay for their insulin (and the needles, the visits to the Dr., etc...). They'd rather smoke their taxpayer-subsidized cigarettes and have me pay for their COPD treatment (their oxygen, visits to the Dr., etc...).

Too fat to walk into Wal-Mart? We have a Federal Program that pays for the 3-wheeled scooters, a Federal Law that requires Wal-Mart to provide Handicapped Parking so they don't have too walk to far and another Federal Program encouraging people to diet and exercise. And another Federal Law that makes it illegal to discriminate against against the obese. And what they'd like to do is make it a crime to call them "fat" (even online) as that's cyber-bullying.

We can pay to make them fat. We can pay to help them stay fat. We can pay to tell them they shouldn't be fat. But it's wrong to call them fat.

I'm with you on that one. I don't care if people watch it and have fun, but I dont give a fuck about the olympics. Everyone is like omg olympics this and olympics that. :/ To me, its just a distraction from the things I have to do. Plus, I always prefer actually playing the sports rather than spectating.

I started playin soccer as i was 3 in a club and played with 17 in the 3rd league.With 19 i had to stop because of an accident.Had some depression because of that as it was always my dream to play in a big stadium but watching how soccer changed in the past 20 years i can say it was destiny.Todays soccer isn't the scoccer i played and loved.No more real teamplay and fair play which created friends for lifetime.I even stopped watching soccer in tv for past 8 years and just watched a single game during european cup .
I prefer to use the time to play with my children as this is way better than watching this crap
