Logo design idea needed

Someone asked me to design a logo for his landing page with the word "Journey Through Gospel, he said his favourite color is white black and blue
I sent him this (attached), and he rejected it

Can anyone give me an idea, I'm new to logo design and I'm really trying my best and still learning

No need to question me about the spelling of Gospel on the logo attached, I spelled it wrong intentionally.

It's not bad, but upon viewing, I can see the design looks a bit pixelated, especially along the edges.

I think it will look better if you just removed the shodows and changed the fonts

Not gonna lie, I would've rejected this as well. But is not only your fault.

Tell your customer to tell you more about this project/brand/group. You as his designer should not make a logo based on "I like black, white and blue".
Try to get as much information as possible. There should be no open questions before you start making this logo.
What is he trying to achieve? Who is the audience? What is the meaning of the slogan? Why those colours? etc.
Once you have all those information you can start with the logo.

Also try working on your graphic skills. I think you still need a lot to learn before taking any clients.

Ask him if he can send you some samples of logos that he likes, so you can understand his taste.
That will help you designing it the way he likes it.

I asked for what he wants and how he want it to look
He just said I should work on other designs.

Nope, I didn't send this one to him, I sent the one with the correct spelling

make sure is easy to read from far and close by (yours isn't because of Y's tail strike through. Also, best to not use shadows or inner shadows. It just distracts and can always be added if it's really needed (when placed on colored background).
I design logo's in color, but I always keep in mind and make sure they work well in only Black or inverted (white). If it's strong on all 3 you should have a winner.

I make many mock-ups, brainstorm ideas in photoshop because it works quickly... but then port them over in illustrator to have a vector one.
