Are you the owner of highPRsociety. Is that service fully up for business. Also, any plans on having paypal setup on that. I am not comfortable giving credit card info. Thanks for all answers and good luck with your case study

Yes, we are the creators of HighPRSociety...its been in Beta for a bit, every thing should be full speed after holidays. I'm not sure about paypal, I don't handle that part...but I get back in the office on tuesday and I will find out for you.
But as far as credit cards go, we are not some home business ran by Joe Schmoe internet marketer. We are a legitimate company, we meet at an office, we have an office phone...an address. We do this for a living, your credit card is information is safe, its not written in some book or on some napkin ;P

There we go, now we are dancing with google. I was going to wait till after the holidays to update but this seemed worth an update. As expected, we dropped to 182 rank, I'll let it dance over the holidays and update you mondays or tuesday. =)

The rank has fluctuated a little bit while it has danced, bouncing around 180. I suspect it will stop dancing some time this week, (I'd be really surprised if it danced longer than that with what we did) I went ahead and did some profile links and Im going to let it drip out.

No one said anything about profile links being so good. They are mainly meant for diversifying your links. And google wont expect your site to get only high quality links. Thats not natural for any site.
No, profile links are not superior to web 2.0 links. Incontent links are much superior to the profile links. With the latest Panda update, their value have still been degraded.

No, blog comments if done in the right way are high quality. But most go for the AA list and then spam them to death that they hardly get any benefit. Making high pr blog comments slow and steady to your site will get you good results

Cashmaster is spot on.
In our other tests, we've seen profiles not carry as much weight as before, however, they are still great at getting your link/IP diversity up. It's good to throw in some cheap links with the good stuff to balance it out anyway.

Almost always we are using our own internal tools for link building. This thread isn't meant to promote our tools, but to simply share a case study we're doing so I don't want to plug them to much.
If your really interested, we are putting out an E-Book later with a ton of completed case studies. (Including this one when we are finished) It will say EXACTLY where we started with our client, exactly what we did, what tools we used and what the results were...good or bad.
I'll let ya'll know when it comes out, maybe I'll bump this thread or create another one...so be on the look out for it if your interested.
Wow, I cant wait. I cant tell you how much I love case studies.

Sweet! As expected, we came out of the google dance and landed on the first page. It will still probably fluctuate before it stabilizes. I still have the profile links dripping out at 250/ a day.
Note: This ranking bump was most likely not due to the profile links since those were just built. I'm pretty happy it jumped to #2, I expected somewhere on first page...2 is great. It still has some stabilization to go. I think the sites original age/strength plus low medium competition played a good role in the big bump.

We've heard a couple of folks claim success with edu profiles last week. We've not tested it enough to weigh in either way. Maybe we can run a test like that in the future.
