Hey, got a question that someone might be able to answer.

I have been busy making large link wheels and have been using orginal articles as well as spun.

Question: am i wasting my time using original content or can i just cut and paste from one web 2 site content ( mine ) and paste it in the next web 2 site...??

look at the serp. if it stuck in duplicate content id does not work.

using duplicate content is not going to get you in trouble, but the linkwheel wont be as effective as when you use unique content for each property

I would create one or two original articles and spin them to create your linkwheels...

It always works better when you restrict using the same content over and over across multiple properties, as google has recently changed things and is testing all of these weird new filters. If you post original articles across the board, keeping each unique article in 5 or less locations, you will do way better than if you post the same article in 100 places since the last changes took effect.

My hunch on how it is working is that google is trying to force adword keyword selection on natural search users so that they funnel more click-thru funds into each of their top keywords. Unlike where natural search pulled fairly and evenly by what people searched, it will streamline down into tighter serp controlled selections. If they do that, this will cancel out the use of duplicate or spun content all together, as it will choke out anything too close in relevance to the primary, devalue and probably de-index it.

Thanks guys for the comprehensive response. I am glad that i am sticking with original content ( just a pian in the ass through :P )
