linking a page with itself can still buffer that page just like "normal" internal linking?

I don't actually expect better rankings or other particular effects, I was just curious about internal linking and whether a page that links to itself with a relevant keyword can still buffer the page just like with normal internal linking (I thought about a sort of "breadcrumb" line at the very beginning with the category page and then the link for that same page, like [link with category keyword as anchor text] >>> [link with relevant keyword for the page itself] or a link at the end together with social share buttons and a line saying "share this with the link: [link to the same page using a relevant keyword as anchor text].

I guess I should waste my time with more productive stuff, but this question seemed kinda interesting, even if probably useless.

I guess the only thing that can be interesting is that you will get some extra Dwell time with that spinning around or another thing that crosses my mind
with this tactic is ti working that you are getting like new visitors when someone clicks and gets to the same site.

Anyway, It is interesting though.

Yes, maybe putting the category page can make some more dwell time and make the reader go to that page (where I list more articles because I usually use SILOs for my category page) but I'll try that just because it doesn't cost me nothing, neither in money nor time, and I have 2 "free" internal links for every page. So, why not?

If I see some changes I will update, but due to the fact that I've mainly worked on customer's sites before and started my own sites recently I guess I'll have to wait a bit more.

I think its worth the time to check it out, might get something out of it '
