Hi,

Does anyone have an idea why in Google search when I type link:mysite.com, google shows only one site.. but when I check the site I don't find a backlink to my site.

Yahoo is showing backlink results fine but not google.. what's the cause of that?

:bawling:

I kinda think something is funky with google. I've had this problem all week. Then all the sudden yesterday G showed 235 of my backlinks all the sudden (even though there are like 900 according to yahoo), and another 100+ today... Not sure what the deal is tho... but it did bury my site, then it came back stronger than it was...

Perhaps it could be a link indexed the last time the page was crawled. Try viewing the cache of the webpage and see if you can find your link on there. Also, view the source of the page and CTRL + F your link to see if it's an image or hidden link.

I have a site that has about 48000+ backlinks according Yahoo, about 9000+ according Google Webmasters tools and 16 according Google SE.

oh god.. 2 vendettas in the same thread.. :D

nryan I did what you said, but it's not there.. maybe it was deleted but is still showing on google..

the thing is.. I have a lot of backlinks for this site.. I'm sure about that.. but googel just doesn't show them.. does that some how impact my position in SERPS's ?

Nope it shouldn't affect your SERP. It's very common for Google to index a lot less links than Yahoo, or other SEs (my site shows 22 backlinks in Google and 1300 in Yahoo).

It's strange though that you can't find the links on the cached page either. I come accross the same thing quite often when analysing my competition's backlinks.
