    Hello Webmaster,

I have a new born affiliate site it is not ranking well now, I want to build some backlinks for it but I wonder how many links per day should i do for my new site? I don't want to look unnatural or got some sort of penalty so, can some one help me with that??

I made around 50 per day for nearly two weeks and was promptly slapped. I'd go lower if I were you, even though I've heard other people saying they create 50 per day and aren't getting any of Google's unwanted attention.

Yeah, I would. Mercifully though, I can report that I am back out of the sandbox so it was only a few weeks. There's a story behind this to, which is probably just coincidence.

I was getting annoyed at having vanished from the SERPs and changed my geotargetting in WebMasters tools to UK. The next day I was back in the SERPs. I've changed it back again to target USA.

    Coincidence? Almost certainly.

    Or is it...? lol

I have never had any sites slapped for too many links too fast.

Granted, I have never tested building hundreds of links each day or anything, but I have definitely built a few dozen per day with only positive effects.

Cabbage - Was your site new? That's the process for newer sites. They shoot up in Google, then drop down or disappear all together for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before bouncing back and climbing again.

If you're nervous about it, I would suggest maybe 10-20 per day.
