Link Building For A Real Business Brand

Hi guys,

I mostly do SEO work on my own sites which consists of the usual stuff that works well but have been asked to do SEO for a real business.

Now I can't take any risk with this business so wondering what the best strategy is in terms of off site SEO.

I am thinking Guest posts, Web 2.0 (properly white hat ones!), related blog comments, Press Releases?

Are these considered too risky or are they OK do you guys think?

Any suggestions welcome.

First you want press releases and other parasite type linking. Don't go cheap on the PR as you want it professionally done and syndicated properly. I'm personally pretty big on naked links in the PR as opposed to anchor text generally when I am beginning a project but I have no clue what is already in place as to SEO.

Sites like behance, storify and the like should have a quality article with images and h tags... again you want quality writing as those sites can show up in the searches for his company.

You may also want to get a hold of 7thAmigo and have him set up a bunch of Web 2.0s that you can build out for him as well and slowly build them so that they are quality.

I'd also start building a PBN specifically for that client and build that out so it is more than your little 10 page site and also use those sites ONLY for him.

That should be a good starter set up for you, Openside, and from there you can see where he is ranking and decide what makes sense to work on next.

Yeah that is what I was thinking but is it too risky building out a small PBN for the client? Even if I did make them like 10 legit sites?

Looking at the comp. I am thinking some quality directories and a few niche related guest posts.

If you make the PBN sites decent; a bunch of pages, original decent content, all original IPs etc and use the ONLY for that client you'll be fine and they should also have a decent impact on the rankings.

No little 5/10 page sites though... make them look like a legit site. You can even put some ads on there to make them look even better to Google.

Start with Digging to Socialize and then go to parasite and make your money site. After apply all the links and keep it up!!

Agreed with Bass about naked URL for press release. If you want it legit, you don't want to start putting "buy shoes" in 100 press releases.
You have to fight the urge to take shortcuts and keep it as natural as possible. I'm coming into one year of my site, and it's really starting to come around. I want this site around in ten years from now so I'm trying to be good to it. And it's a tough fight! lol

UnNatural backlinks that can easily spot by Google will risk your site being hit in the next penguin/panda update. Keep that in mind.

The best thing to do is build links Naturally, like they are being built by your own Target Audience. Guest posting is one good links that is natural. Link Exchanges in your own relevant niches. Forum Posting from High stat/traffic sites as well.

Guest posts, press releases, buffers backed by sape links and the like would work well.

You should build mainly contextual links from niche authority websites. Guest posts and quality PBNs will work for a long term.
