I'm hoping some experienced SEO gurus can weigh in on this one. The goal here is to create optimal results and longevity by way of an ongoing campaign.

My research on this forum suggests that link building going into 2015 should be made of four types of anchor text:

    1. Branded
    2. Generic
    3. Raw URL
    4. Long Tail

I'm interested in knowing a percent-based guideline for keeping my anchor text favorable to Google. For example:
    40% Branded
    20% Generic
    10% Raw URL
    30% Long Tail

I'm by far an SEO expert, but I would say it depends on what kind of project you're running.

Is it Churn and Burn? Local Google Pack? Authority Site? Is this for National Organic? Local Organic?

I'm targeting long term results and national organic.

If you are going for long term results and this is a brand new site, I would recommend not to go too heavy on exact match terms so you may want to think about breaking up the 30% longtail. I would focus on building up url/brand links to your main page with a few keyword termed links also. Start off slow. After the first month, ramp it up a bit and so on each month.

These are the guidelines I go by and have had good results:

    30% url/brand
    5% - 10% exact match terms
    20% - 30% phrase matched terms
20% - 30% related terms (terms that don't contain your entire keyword)
    10% Generic
