For those who got hit with the update(Which I'm assuming is most), what are you doing to stay sane, move, and or try to recover the site(s) that were hit?

I've started 3 other websites, purely on ChatGPT 4 + manual review/edit.
2 of the new sites are 100% brand new, while one is an expired domain. The expired domain is the exact name of my niche.
I noticed something weird today. One of the hit sites has a lousy keyword that is still ranking 2 on Google, no idea why.

I used to get 100+ users per down, but now it's less than 10. Most ranking keywords are nowhere to be found.

Should I dump the site and move on, or should I continue working on it in the hope that it might pick up again?
DA on Semrush is 6 with some 20+ domain BL.

Difficult to say if it really was the update that caused it

Find out what's working and more importantly why it's working, never give up!
Thank you! I'm just getting started. just that this is the first time my site has been affected by an update.

Yeah, it was. My site was an evergreen niche. The articles were ranking for over 2 years with zero maintenance or BL from me.
Now, forums, quora and Reddit are mostly ranking now

Same here. My website lost rankings after March Google Core Update. Though I am holding it till next 3 core updates to see if it recovers.

So a fair amount of changes happened with their most recent core update, including:

- Expired domain abuse changes.
- Scaled content abuse changes (generating an abundant amount of pages and/or AI content).
- Site reputation abuse - this doesn't take effect until May 5th.

This should be the default mindset. There is always a way.
