coughing up blood is not a joke, you should see a doctor, if you haven't yet

Op needs to quit smoking he is in trouble. just small one chocolate does not take much of fat.

Nice advice, after few month's it will be quite hard to walk to nearest shop to buy cigarettes

I was properly addicted to rolling tobacco, from about ages 14 to about 34. Then I started to get really sick of it. I broke the addiction when I got the flu, no way I could smoke. But the urge never really went away and I was an occasional smoker for about the last four years. Then it started to get habitual so I wanted to do something about it.

So so now I vape, and dear lord I love it. I have no intention of smoking tobacco ever again and the vape doesn't seem as addictive as tobacco did. I feel a lot better. I totally prefer the vape to baccy.

For or the record don't bother with e-cigs, just go straight to vape with 18mg liquid. For the record I use a blu vapouriser but the range in the UK is huge. Don't go cheap though.

I'm not familiar with the prescription anti-nicotinic drugs (Zyban/Welbutrin), but I do have some experience with some from the arylcyclohexylamine class. Arylcyclohexylamines are being researched as a new class of anti-depressant drugs, and many are nicotinic acetylcholine (nACh) receptor antagonists as well.

When under the effects of a drug with nACh antagonism, smoking a cigarette doesn't elicit any sensation at all. I would start smoking a cigarette out of habit, and put it out after a few puffs since I couldn't feel anything.

As far as more common ways of quitting, I've had no success with e-cigarettes; but some decent success with nicotine gum.

Unfortunately I have bi-polar, which has a statistically higher rate of nicotine addiction. Last time I was researching it, it was believed to be a form of subconscious triggered self-medication for the effects of either the illness or the medication prescribed for it. Schizophrenia also has a high prevalence of nicotine addiction.

Funny thing is, when I was younger and far more experimental; I never ended up with a habit or problem with anything... but when it came to nicotine, that addiction is a beast -_-.

Edit: Totally going to go smoke a cigarette now. Thanks OP >:O

The Russian way: go to the banya, or spa, everyday for like 3 days. It will help you sweat out the nicotine and reduce your cravings. By the third day you will not even want a cig.

Assuming there is some truth to that, wonder if going to those triggers a dopamine release to reduce cravings. I know when I'm playing video games, I'll put off smoking a cigarette for hours because I'll be getting my "fix" from the game.

I quit smoking about an year ago, cold turkey worked for me. I actually thought it was pretty easy to do, all you need is something to replace the habit. I started chewing a lot of gums.

You pretty much helped me finally make my mind up here. Cheers.

Monday i will start vaping!

Good luck to anyone else thinking of quitting.

I quit smoking 6 years ago and I used to be tempted about 10 seconds at a time every time I passed someone smoking - but I never gave in - not once. Then about 2 years ago I had friends that were vaping and after considering it for months, I tried an ecig - one of the simple ones and liked it. Now I vape with a nice 'rig' - and I do have nicotine in the juice but for me, it's like a portable cup of coffee (except it's nicotine vs caffeine). The biggest problems with smoking is that your inhaling smoke and all that tar and the 400+ chemicals they put into them. I'm not saying that vaping is 100% safe - let's face it, breathing isn't 100% safe... lol I'm happy with vaping but even if it was made illegal tomorrow and I couldn't vape after my supplies ran out, I would NEVER go back to smoking.

Just my .02 worth - good luck. Remember, you will quit when YOU are ready - when you are quitting for YOU, not for someone else.
OS
PS. Since I started vaping, I am never tempted to smoke at all when near a smoker. I enjoy vaping and no longer have any desire to smoke cigarettes even when I smell the smoke.

quit smoking a few years ago with e cigs. Sell it now lol, not trying to sell anyone anything but to people saying 'you're still addicted'. The liquid is made up of nicotine, water(sometimes), propylene glycerol and vegetable glycerin. All have been used for years in food colouring, asthma pumps etc but obviously the 3 industries losing money from vaping are tobacco companies, pharma companies and governments, hence the bad press.

Theres basically 3 'generations' of e cig. The disposable ones you see look like cigs, these are crap with a weak battery.
Then the basic ego type ones, these are decent.
Then recently theres the sub ohm tanks, if you search 'aspire atlantis','kanger subtank' etc you'll see those make loads of vapour, will be fairly easy to quit with those.
The first week or 2 are still quite hard as all the other chemicals from cigarettes are leaving your body but after that you'll barely notice any difference.
If you use the advanced tanks you'll need low nicotine % liquid, 3-6mg as you're really getting a lot more due to the large amount of vapour. With the ego types you want to start on 18-24mg

I invented a "Quit Smoking Patch" several years ago.

Most Quit Smoking Patches require that you wear them
on your chest or your arm. The difference with my version
is that you wear it over your mouth . . . Works perfectly!

I started jogging, working out and stuff, and that's why I decided to quit smoking, 'cause I can't do both.

replace cigarette with chocolates,foods,ice cream
if you are hourly smoker, try to watch movies or some thing interesting in laptop with no break
it will work

I quit smoking 5 years ago...it was in the first days a bit hard but i read somewhere that dark chocolate helps and tried it...Cacao have a lot "dopamine" and dopamine makes you feel good/happy..
Maybe it will help you..

I've been a smoker for almost 20 years. I've tried everything, vaping, reducing, replacing them with eating, drinking alcohol, sex. I managed to stay clean for a year with the "simpleguided smoking plan" but when I was in the army the war messed with me and I lost my nerves a bit and started again.
And then, a miracle. One day I started hating smoke, it sickens me. I can't stand being near it.
And the reason is - severe pneumonia and the prognosis of emphysema.
A bit radical but, hey, if the cat catches the mouse, it doesn't matter what color it is.

I'm in the same boat.. trying to quit smoking. It's after I eat a meal.. my body just wants a cigarette. I've been vaping for a few months.. and now i'm hooked on that aswell as smoking. Mrs B Vanilla Custard is just too damn good to stop vaping. I feel like i'm addicted to Nicotine, if i'm not smoking or vaping i'm just sat there craving nicotine. What a horrible cycle i've got myself into..

Smoking weed is actually helping you deactivate cancer cells. The tissue penetrating tar that weed gives off acts as an expectorant and allow you to break up that hardening cigarette tar in the lungs. Coughing up tar isn't a bad thing. When you smoke 1/3 packs daily and your not coughing up tar, that's when you should worry.

That's one of the reason weed is good for some people..
